| | | | logging in from overseas to stealth ebay/paypal accounts Hi just wondered how many people here have stealth accounts in their own country but live overseas. What methods do you use so as not to be detected and potentially limited by Ebay/PP
I am currently using Auctiva as it doesn't share IP addresses, problem is Auctiva is pretty crap, it only lets you list and revise new items and that's about it, you still need to answer questions, end listings, and all the rest of it which must be done through Ebay direct.
I have a friend in the UK who has been doing a few select things, i've only sold a couple of things so far, but when I start selling more I need to find another solution.
I recently got a UK VPN, problem is it doesn't work, and can't access Amazon or EBay. I will get a new one, but who knows if it will work, because they can easily see that you are logging in through another connection.
Also thinking about getting a computer set up at my folks house, and accessing it remotely via crossloop, bit of a pain in the ass, and will probably mean bringing my dad out of retirement.
Any ideas? |
| turbo | 08-30-2010 04:48 AM | Get a UK VPS.. |
| digitalslave | 08-30-2010 05:00 AM | I'm wondering too. In the US where I live, soon we're going to need ss numbers on our pp accounts.
It would be great to log in remotely from across the pond or Canada even. |
I don't understand fully what a VPS is, what would be the benefit to me of having one? |
| turbo | 08-30-2010 08:25 AM | VPS = Virtual Private Server.
Its basically a computer/server, that you can log into via RDC (remote desktop connection). Then browse the internet as if you were doing it on your own computer.
If you can't think of the benefits, then perhaps you should stick to your day job :) |
How would I know the benefits before I know what it is? :pound: |
Lots of threads about VPN - search is your friend. Also google VPN and different providers - big learning curve but if you're computer savvy, go for it - you own own personal network.
I aint...yet /the end. |

very interesting reads
so, one questions...
how do I create my own stealth amazon account? are the methods the same as ebay stealth accounts?
:bounce: |
| turbo | 08-30-2010 01:12 PM | WOW. You found my stats. Interesting.
However, that question I asked is on a complete different subject and thread. The difference is information on VPS can be found easily on google. Whereas the information for my question would probably not be as widely available. And as a matter of fact. I have searched on google for amazon and ebay stealth. How do you think I found this place :)
This is a forum on Ebay Stealth. I was merely asking would the process for creating amazon stealth account differ from creating an ebay stealth account. |

| jesseinkaron | 08-30-2010 03:29 PM | "Lots of threads here on VPN - Search is your friend."
I think I have read all of these threads , and I found mostly conflicting information.
I read one usefull post about using your home computer to remotely connect from your
Laptop while overseas. However this is useless if you are already overseas , and you
need to use several stealth accounts. Almost everyone here seems to be totally against
the use of VPN or Proxy , most people here seem to say this will get you in trouble.
However there are a few people on here that claim to use VPNs that work great?
So anyway , I bought the book , I read the threads and searched the forum ..
And I still don't know SH1T! And then anytime you ask a question you
get told to Search , and use Google ??? |

Because most of the information you need can be found by searching the forums. | So what do you suggest, we in fact make this a non-forum and not talk?, after all if most of the information is here, what could we possibly want to know?
Actually this topic is a grey area, and it seems no-one knows the answer
Give the guy a break |
| jesseinkaron | 08-30-2010 05:05 PM | Turbo ,
If you really want to prove me wrong , why don't you just direct me to the section of this forum that has all the clear information about which VPNs , Proxy's , VPS or other versions of obtaining an IP to make yourself appear to be in your home Country. |
| jesseinkaron | 08-30-2010 05:16 PM | There are 3 of us with the same questions in this thread.
Myself , Sasasasa and Digitalslave , I guess we are all having trouble finding this info?
Is it because we are all dummies ? |

Give the guy a break | What is your problem? I suggest you give me a break! You've done nothing but reply with petty comments to all my posts.
Please stay on topic... |

Once you show me that this is already clearly outlined and all you need to do is search for it , then I will agree to wear a dunce cap for the rest of the week, and I will call you my Daddy big bossman , boss of all bosses if that makes you feel good . ? | Quote:

If you cant find the info you need, use search function. If you still dont know. Then ask. VPS Virtual private server - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia VPS Host (one of many) Virtual Servers | tagadab.com Why use a VPS instead of VPN?
Well, in all honesty this is the method I prefer to use. The reason being is I get remote access to a remote desktop. Therefore I can log in to ebay/paypal without any problems.
Each stealth account I use a different VPS account. I get mine for £3/m each. Very cheap. You hardly get any space/bandwidth. But who needs it if you're only using them to post on ebay etc. Why is this different from VPN?
Because with a VPN, this is in theory a proxy server. Ebay has good ways of spotting proxies. With a VPS you are basically browsing ebay as you would your own computer, and you appear to ebay as a normal user with a normal IP.
I hope you found this useful. |
If I have 4 computers each having 4 ebay accounts using 4 different mobile dongles, do I need 4 new computers for the VPS to access the accounts from oversea or can I just use 1 computer as a server? Quote:

Great answer .
I think that was what we were after the whole time.
Too bad we had to cry like babies to get an answer out of you !
Anyway .. thank you ! |
Cheers for the info.
Ok I think i'm starting to understand what a VPS is now, Looked at a few companies and this is a very cheap option.
Tagadab looks good for a tenner a month, with five dedicated IP addresses! |
| oompaloompa | 09-05-2010 08:31 AM | boys, put your handbags away...
sasasa, if you are talking Europe and you want to log in to UK accounts with UK ip, get your butt back to blighty and purchase a UK dongle, alot of them give you a UK ip when logging in abroad, call them to check it out, the costs vary but apart from the cost of the actual monthly fee, you would have an option to pay an extra £5 for 24 hours use or £40 for 30 days use......
it used to be that you would connect to a local partner network when abroad, but things have changed and UK ips are available now, I have tested this on t-mobile and 3 networks, I log in to my UK accounts when only holiday on my private floating island...
PS sasa, who is your avatar (looks like that depeche mode guy) |

Ok flying to the UK to buy a dongle is a bit of a hassle!, especially when there is something called post ;)
I actually already have a 3 dongle that gives me a new ip address every time, I unlocked it, but last time I used overseas it was an overseas IP. Or are the prices you are talking about related to international roaming? |
40 quid seems alot, when you can get a vps with 5 different ip's for around 10 a month |
| oompaloompa | 09-05-2010 02:36 PM | yep international roaming, should give you UK ip, if you get correct one ..
the avatar is YOU? hmm thought this was a stealth forum! You guys wouldnt be able to deal with a real pic of me, youd be drooling*
yes £40 is alot, its just an example for 30 days, but say you only need to log in occasionally, then £5 every week, say would be ok, and then use auctiva or some such site....
*with nausea |

*with nausea | Yeah its a stealth forum, that's why i'm wearing sunnies :)
Ok, I think the VPS seems like a better idea though. Also if I use international roaming then the IP could be in Bognor Regis one day and Aberdeen the next. At least with a VPS you know where the server is located. If I am creating new accounts then Ebay would like the IP's to be fairly close to my home address right? |

I must say I do like the look of tagadab, £10 per month with 5 IP addresses seems like a very good deal |
| turbo | 09-05-2010 04:53 PM | Oh i see, so what was the point in your first post of this thread then? I mean if you already knew the answer then why ask? :S
