Default when getting a PO box, do you need to provide proof of id?

is it possible to get a po box under a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name? If you recieved packages to that po box, would you need to provide a legit id to pick them up? Thanks

When I set up a UPS box I had to show ID.

You can put any company name on it you want without proof. Kinda like DBA.

To make myself more clear....

I had to show ID like a driver license.... I did not need proof for the company. I also keep my name off the box.

I also do not use this for an eBay address or paypal. It is a return address for all shipments as well as returned items.

HI- when you set up the box-- theres a section on the yellow form--
for other receipients--
I always add- (for example)--
if my name was Mary Smith,
I also add: Marys Collectibles, M's Enterprise, or even Mary + Company--each and every single package or piece of mail I have recd- sometimes they place a pencil mark "?" on it--next to the strange name, but i have recd it..

you can also do this..

Setup a UPS PMB with a suite #.
Just go to a UPS store, not the pickup/delivery ups, but a store (you can do a search for local stores on their website)
This gives you a physical address, like 123 poo st suite 123 - 123.

Cost: $50 for 3 months including the key deposit
Id: two forms of id, i used drivers license and another government form

What you can do: You get a key and a box in the store. You can have anything sent to it and the name doesn't matter. Just as long as the physical address is correct. I talked with a few people from the UPS store, and asked what would happen if someone spelled my name wrong or got my name wrong. They said that as long as the address was correct, and that I signed the disclaimer for them to pick up my mail, it was all good.

I used this method to register for ebay with no problems.

PO Box won't share your info with ebay, though I have heard that it is possible if you manually call a PO Box and request info you can get it but nothing automated.
