Foreign paypal accounts for USA?

Wondering if anybody in the US has ever attempted to open a PP account in Canada or any other country using an IP from the states? Do they maybe automatically block a US IP from opening a Canadian account?

OR..........

If somebody in another country could open the PP accounts and then sell them to US users?

Maybe this has already been covered somewhere and I missed it.

Well, IP aside, you would have banking problems. As far as I can tell you can add a US bank to a Canadian PP. BUT only after its verified by a Canadian bank. The US bank can be there but will not verify. So your biggest issue is a Canadian bank. And you cant just get them online here any easier then the US

I see that as the biggest hurdle after you jumped through whatever VPN, IP, phone number, address, etc issues. Avoid one problem and grab another. Bank may be easier then SS num I guess. But I see no walk in the park on paper

I opened a pp account in a european country from Canada. All went well, till I got the "money laundering" limit. It took me a few months to resolve this, as they require an address in the country you have the PP account in, you need to show a bank statement or utility bill going to an address in that country. I did go to stated country in 4 months , yes it was limited for 4 months. I had my bank send a statement to a friends address there, and then provided it to pp to get the limit lifted. Which they then did right away, and I have not had any problems since.
That was before I knew of more creative ways of giving them documents - lol-

so , yes it can be done, but expect the limitation, then have to submit docs.

Hmmm interesting. I might have to start looking into this, COULD be a viable path possibly especially when PP starts REQUIRING the SSN right away for tax purposes........... I can open bank accounts in the US on-line without ever stepping foot in a building. I would imagine you can do the same with banks of other countries, just wonder how well that would go over with a US address on the bank account, banks might not like that I might think?

Not sure if you actually read the posts or not...

Opening banks online from other countries is NOT easy. Almost impossible. Banking laws are pretty strict everywhere.

Getting the Banks is The Hardest Part,,The Address,Phone Number, Even the VPN is Easy,,,,Finding Countries that have Laws that allow people to Open up Accounts online, and also have Paypal in that country Is a Nightmare,,,Try seachiong for something like that,,,

Exactly about the banking. While you can do initial applications online, at one point you will either have to set foot into the bank to sign docs or mail/fax in id verification. There are a few banks that can do this so research is key.
