Amazon as a supplier?
 

So I found a super legit source for DVD's and I'm thinking about going legit with an account on eBay. Mainly because I know Paypal will want a SSN and business info eventually. Anyway I was looking for some rare, classic movies just to see if I can find a source, and came across this site that's apparently affiliated with Amazon. Well at least the site says "powered by Amazon" so I assume it's authorized. Anyway, you can't buy directly from the site but what it does is direct you to Amazon listings. I found a lot of movies going for as low as 5 bucks that go for 20 bucks used on ebay. I was thinking what would eBay say If they asked me for supplier info and I gave them that site? :FF: I mean is there a violations in buying used DVD's and reselling them? I'm thinking they could use the cop out. "Well Amazon is not considered a secure supplier and could be dealing in ⊗⊗⊗⊗" Which is obviously true, but can't the same be said about eBay? Not that they would care about being hypocrites. Anyway, what do you guys think?

It might be worth a shot, but eBay would probably consider this drop-shipping. Which we all know is TECHNICALLY allowed, but in practice they do NOT want you to do it.

I would also just point out that you would want to look for an actual SALE. I can list pencils for $1,000 each on eBay, but that does not necessarily mean that I actually SOLD any.

My strategy is to move DVD's in bulk buy mixing select classics with newer releases. For instance. I may offer a used Terminator 1, 2, and 3, with a new Terminator Salvation. These will all be on hand, no drop shipping, so would I get some proof of purchase from Amazon, or the seller to show to eBay? I have never purchased from Amazon.

There are no violations in buying used DVDs as you describe and reselling them, the only law on DVDs is that you can't sell NEW DVDs that are a different Region code to the country you are selling them in. So you can't sell Region 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 NEW in the US, you can only sell them used.

If they asked you for supplier info and you gave them Amazon, I think they'd give you a gold star.

Yes, whether you buy from Amazon itself or a seller on Amazon, there is always a packing slip. But the actual Amazon ones look a little different.
