ebay live chat: Conflicting info given
 

Alright so i was chatting with ebay live chat today and ask a whole bunch of questions and one of my concerns to the ebay guy was:

I have a paypal account that was closed and paypal does not let me appeal so this paypal is linked to my ebay, but my ebay is currently fine. What is going to happen with my ebay account? Answer: Your ebay is not good anymore because your paypal is closed for this account and even if you unlink this paypal account from your ebay account it will still be affected.

Solution: ebay live chat told me to remove leave it and create a second ebay account with a credit card on file and that should get you back selling on ebay with the same registration details with a different email address.

I wanted him to show me where on ebay it says I can create a 2nd ebay account about what he just told me, but he says nowhere on ebay does it say about opening a 2nd ebay account. I remember it use to say you can open a 2nd ebay account, but this ebay employee is actually stupid or the pages have changed.

I also ask him about having a good ebay account, but having your paypal account limited which is linked to my ebay. I asked what is the connection of why my ebay is immediately limited also? Answer: he says you are correct! if you have your paypal linked to your ebay and your paypal gets limited for any reason your ebay gets immediately limited and these issues are only opened and closed by paypal agents.

I am posting this since I do not find any info on the forums for future reference to people on here.

Any insight would be helpful...

You were right the Ebay employee was stupid. Start over in stealth with a new PP and EB account.

This is probably what the employee was talking about, but he misunderstood the policy:

Yes, you can, as long as you use a different user ID and email address. You might find it convenient to have a second account if you buy or sell a large number of items and want to organize them better, or if you’re buying or selling a completely different kind of item and want to keep your accounts separate.

Just make sure that:

The two accounts are never used in the same listing.

Both accounts have different user IDs and different email addresses.

Please note that in some cases where a member has two accounts and one becomes suspended, their second account may also be subject to restriction.

Well there a ton of stupid ebay employees that are probably new.

Old, new, does not matter. Sometimes we know their policies better than they do. :rolleyes:
