I seen some people on here praise ING, What are the benefits of having an ING account?

*Wholes process done online
*Once you have verified (1-2 days....accts ready within a week), you dont have to do it again
*You get 1 checking acct with debit card and unlimited savings accts
*Savings acct can be opened online in less than 1 minute
*each savings account can have a nickname (i.e. PayPal acct 1, etc)
*ING doesn't care if money comes in that isn't in your name---they may call you, but just say it is a business partner
*Easily transfer from your ING to your personal checking

*ITS NOT PAYPAL so your money wont be frozne

Well, check out my post in the "Paypal Limitations" forum. I'm not sure but it seems Paypal might be starting to crack down a lot more on anyone who is using ING lately.

I disagree---What you are seeing is that statistically, more people here are using ING and of course, this is the place for people with limited paypal accounts!

When you type in bank name, put it in different each time, INGDIRECT, I.N.G Direct, ING, I N G Direct, etc.

The routing will be the same, but oh well----keep in mind, they operate on a pts system---everything you do and dont do is a certain level of pts

There are automatic thresholds that determine limitations (i.e. open acct day 1, receive $1000, withdrawal $1000...BING---limt)

Having ING may not necessarily take away pts, but it may just not give you any

Phyisical banks in general would presumably give you more points.

That thing about the way you type "ING direct" was something that crossed my mind but I had a hard time believing Paypal would spend time looking at something that arbitrary. Then again, I couldn't believe at one point that they would link through passwords too but those suspicions were quickly confirmed!

Also, about the statistics.. I know a lot of people use ING here but that's not the whole reason. What confuses me is that both me and ebaynoway got that same weird "unusual bank account activity" message that I'd never even heard of before. So naturally, I figured it had something to do with the bank account used.

i really doubt it had to do with ING specifically --- like i said, you may get more "pts" for using a bank like Key Bank insteaad of an interent bank, but that will not be the sole factor for a limitation.

Yeah, you're probably right.. I'll keep trying but it sure is annoying when ING limits you to only 6 total transfers per month!

6 Transfers??? What do you mean? I dont have that on mine

Have you done more than 6 total ING transfers in any given month before? I think the first time you go over they're supposed to give you some kind of warning.. I read it happened to people in a number of places, plus it even says on ING's terms and conditions I'm pretty sure..

By "transfers", I mean any exit of funds from any ING savings account.. that even includes funds transfers to another ING sub-account!

Hmm, no, i only transfer out twice a month anyways though

I can use a ING business savings account hooked up to my authorize.net accoutn right?

i am planning on using ing saving accounts with a couple of ebay accounts, is it still safe to open up a main ing account and then have 4 savings accounts hanging of that and those details are given to ebay/paypal ? also is it really necessary to always change the way the bank institute is spelt, eg.. ING, I N G, ING Direct ????????? im in australia cheers

you can keep the bank name the same, since all that paypal checks is the account number + branch number. i have all of my accounts branching out of my real name account, all from the same branch from the same bank, no problems.

you can also use "Internationale Nederlanden Groep" in paypal.

Yeah that would probably work...so thats what ING stands for?

Wouldn't it be easier if I just open up a whole new paypal account with a NEW bank acct that using ING? The debit card ING gives, can they be used to pay for eBay fee's?

Also can you buy stuff from paypal if it is hooked to ing acct and does it matter that paypal and ing addreses dont match?
