I run VM Workstation 7.1 (Registered)
I have never dealt with VM Player.
BUT.......

In Workstation when I press the "Full Screen" button on the Workstation menu bar the client machine resizes to full screen.
Then I resize my browser window to whatever size I want to by click/hold/drag on the edges of the browser, just like I would any program.

Is that what you are talking about or did I read your post incorrectly?

Next time you ask for help, add what version you are using. I take it you downloaded the program & did a reboot?

You can run vmplayer without workstation:ranger:

any difference in how the os is run and seen between vmplayer and vmware 7.01 ?

you can do much more with workstation but i think the problem above should be the same for both.
