Ridiculing the "Newbies"
 

I just wanted to vent here..

You know when I came to this site several months ago, I came here for "HELP",
not for a place to hang out, as I dont have anything to do but watch the soaps, but for help.!

--I can remember not so long ago, being really "afraid" to even make a post, thinking everyone was watching me, and would laugh at me, or behind my back...
--
These folks that come here to Aspkins site, (I think) come here for the same reason I did.. for HELP..

--Some of these folks are not as fortunate as I, they are /were selling things on Ebay to keep their electric on, maybe even to keep groceries in their refrig..

--I have a husband who has a good job, I work by choice, to keep all my kids in the private school, to pay a housekeeper, to buy any and all gadgets that come out i want, etc.
--BUT.. some of these folks that come to the forum, come here as their
"LAST RESORT".. some may even be thinking about suicide?
--Those feelings of Worthlessness... No one remembers???

_ I know i do. I felt as if i was fired from my job. Then, after i opened the 2nd act, and got canned, i was fired again, and then again,,
-- I was feeling pretty WORTHLESS, when i came here..

--- My heart goes out to some of these people.. Last week, i even sent one of them a "free sellers acct", because i could tell by their words, they were at their wits end.
---LOOK< I do not want to ruin everyones Friday 'Big Drinking night" or whatever (I dont drink),
-BUT, I think maybe we all can be alittle Easier on these folks, alittle more
HELPFUL, alittle Gentler on them??(If no one knows what I mean.. I get alot of emails daily)-- I guess folks know i like to talk :)

So, sorry if this is a 'Downer" to anyone, but I just read another post today, not posted today, but up in a thread, and I felt sorry for that guy- I could see he went from one thread asking for help, to another--recd a rude response, then went to another thread and got a smart comment..

I totally agree. Some of these comments from some posters I delete immediately because it wasn't called for. Its just rude sometimes to belittle a person when they need help the most.

NOT SUIICIDAL MIND YOU, BUT I AM TRYING DESPERATELY TO HELP MY FAMILY, AND PAY $125 PER HOUR FOR THERAPY FOR MY SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD, WHO RECEIVES 30+ HOURS OF THERAPY A WEEK. SO WAY TO GO EBAYHATELUV, WE ALL NEED HELP AND LIKE YOU I DON'T SIT UP LATE AT NIGHT FOR FUN, BUT TO HELP MY FAMILY. AND YES, I AM OFTEN AFRAID TO POST FOR RIDICULE, AND TO OTHERS WHO ARE ALSO WHO KNOWS WHAT COULD BE LEARNED FROM US TOO. HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND.

EBAYHATELUV---BRAVO!!!!! I was in this forum for months just reading and learning and decided to become a registered supporter not so long ago.

You have remained an ABSOLUTE constant in here. I really want to tell you how nice it is to read the responses you give the posters--you don't just give a simple, unthought response, you really take the time to answer thoroughly and with kindness and warmth to each and every person. You can just tell how much you care through your efforts and words.

You truly are a blessing here and I am very sure in everything you do--you are a breath of fresh air in a world that seems to hold so much negativity. The time and effort you take here is TRULY and GENUINELY appreciated and I for one would like to personally thank you for all the people you have helped here including myself to better understand things in a warm, pleasant and enjoyable manner.

I am so glad you posted this and I sincerely hope it is well recognized by others as well.

Thanks for all your continued support and generosity in sharing all you have learned. It is so nice to see someone willing to share so much they have had to learn the hard way, truly hoping others will succeed through it. You a definately a Mentor and someone EVERYONE here can count on to understand and lend a hand!!!!!!!

Some of these posters belittle themselves

I just thought this thread should be refreshed since I really agree with the sentiment by Mrs. Luv and really don't think mindless criticism of "newbies" (if as a newbie, I can use that term?) is productive or helpful. Appreciate the work of Aspkin, Modee, Mrs. Luv and all those who contribute their knowledge and expertise to the forum.

It is so much better to be helpful. What to do where the posts are {nearly} outrageous?
Like the one about the PI ? Isn't that beyond the scope of here?
I have a problem at times with the stupidity. What if aspkin,modee or Mrs luv are not on line? Posts can not be deleted quickly. The stupidity gets answered by more stupidity.
Goes on. There's another thread about a vcc. Its workings are not fully checked out so if
it pans, there's another waste.
Ya'll know I might say something a bit smart BUT if I am out of order I will always apologize. Otherwise it as you say nastiness gets out of hand.:)

I agree, great post. I'm still a "newbie" here but at least I'm back on my feet. I lost my job, but my savings "saved" me. :) My parents are now paying my College and will pay all the way until I get my MD. Funny thing is that they own their own business, pretty successful although I'm really set on becoming a Surgeon.

I am grateful for you saying this. It is a terible feeling of panic when you have been sailing aling on ebay 7 then off you go. The one thing I have learned from this experience is to : DO NOTHING about ANYTHING for a few days...{weell mabe sob, wael, cry] Had I not panicked about ebay & made a mess woorse things would be alot easier. Wish I had seen this in the beginning. Sorry for long post, really just want to say thank you. I also enjoy the "deviousness" at ebays expense.
