This is simply an FYI. Forum members who know me know that I do NOT judge people. I don't personally care what anybody sells. In the case of the OP, I do not believe that he KNEW they were counterfeits until he had a problem. It happens.

But selling counterfeits is getting DANGEROUS!

Copyright and trademark owners are no longer waiting around for the government to take this issue seriously. They are hiring attorneys to go after sellers of counterfeits - especially those selling on eBay and Amazon.

How they work is like this: An undercover buyer working for or with the law firm will purchase an item. When it is received, the brand owner examines the item to see if it is counterfeit or not. If it is counterfeit, they have the evidence they need to win a lawsuit against the seller.

Stealth only goes so far. Stealth will hide you from eBay and PayPal. But it will NOT hide you from law enforcement or a subpoena! At some point, money has to enter your REAL bank account. And any junior attorney, cop or FBI agent knows that to find out who is responsible in these cases that you follow the money trail. Once they find the bank account, they've GOT YOU! Nobody is going to believe that the money just magically appeared in your account and you have no idea why.

Again, I don't personally care what anybody else does. It is enough for me to mind my own affairs without getting involved in someone else's business. But some new person might assume from some of these posts that Stealth makes you bulletproof. It does not. It was not designed for that. As the program is laid out in the stealth guide, it is perfectly legal. But if you use it for things that are NOT legal, you are taking a risk, plain and simple.

agreed Jeff, but attorneys usually wont petition the bank account for small sellers. Never reply or answer any questions, I personally wouldnt get an attorney over this matter but now you have admitted to stuff, maybe you should, be see how it goes. These are scare tactics, they cannot sue everyone, they can scare a fair number though, it usually works, so why prosectute, this is more cost effective....

Actually, copyright and trademark cases are normally filed in FEDERAL court. While there are some rules as to proper venue, it is not like being sued over debt owed, in which they have to file in the area in which you live.

IMO I don't think the firm is really going to retain council in the appropriate state or travel there to prosecute over a few dozen pieces? I would say highly unlikely...If they research this person and find he has nothing as far as assets or income why waste the money? You might say to make an example but, it is a civil judgment so unless he has great credit they most likely not prosecute the person...After all they bought one from him not hundreds...

I don't have any stock anymore,I have nothing ,that is true.not much money in the bank ,no house but a broken car. They will get nothing from me if they want money .
The only thing I concern is if they will put me in jail for selling a couple dozens of their products!

My guess would be no, seems more of a scare tactic to me. Keep us updated.

No. They CANNOT put you in jail. No private company can. Only the government can do that. And I cannot see a government prosecutor wasting their time. If it were a couple of dozen SHIPMENTS of 100 items each, then maybe. But not for a couple dozen items.

Agreed the best way the government tracks down frauders to send to jail is to follow there shipments of thousands of ⊗⊗⊗⊗ to there house and as soon as signed for BUSTED.

so the representative knew your name only because you wrote in on the package with the return address? were you using stealth?

so if you had a different name or as i write: Returns, receiving etc.. and an address that not my house. then they would not have you name and home address correct?

I think even putting no return address, as returns are slim anyway, i don't mind loosing a few pieces for what they are worth or paid for in order to have that shield

do you think it matters if you use the same post office or just a couple in the same area all the time? even if you pay cash, if asked i am sure a worker may remember someone who comes in frequently and ships media mail allot.

all of this is making me think that I should open a stealth usps shipping account online, or a stamps.com acct, or a paypal stealth acct. and use it for shipping with a return that goes to anywhere faraway!

The only other way after that would be to follow the trail from getting amazon to give up acct information and i do not see that happening.

as soon as anyone here's amazon or any selling platform giving infos there revenue from sellers that walk away from their platform will be in the 100's of millions.
