Good news, the "selling limit" seems to increase as you get feedback...

I have an account that is a little over 1 month old. I started selling 2 weeks ago and got the selling limit after I had sold 10 items. It told me, as with everyone, that I could only sell 10 items every month as a new seller, for the first 3 months. Now, I got 6 feedback from the 10 items that I sold, only 2 weeks ago ...note it hasn't been a month yet, but only 2 weeks. As of today, I was able to list another 5 items. I haven't tried to push it more, but I could maybe list even more.

So, from what I see, the limit isn't 10 items sold per month fixed, but it increases if you get feedback.

thanks for the info matey

DAILYHUNDRED 11-06-2010 05:56 PM

Thanks for the update. Imma start selling cheap items to hopefully increase my limit before december.

So your selling limit is now 15 per month?

kirkie 11-06-2010 09:04 PM

I noticed this with amazon, sometimes I pass my $750 velocity limit and don't get the message until $1,500 when i get a couple feedback early on.

At least 15, yes. I didn't list more because I don't want to get the account killed for listing too much too quick. But it definitely seems to increase, as it has only been 2 weeks since my first sale on the account and I'm already able to list more than the allowed 10 per 30 days.

shogun1 11-12-2010 09:41 AM

not saying your wrong, but couldnt it be that it goes by calender month? If you joined in october then maybe nov 1st it renews even though it hasnt been 30 days

shogun1 11-12-2010 09:42 AM

also,if you purchased an older account, this wouldnt be an issue correct? I noticed it said this is for accounts opened after september of 2010

rsot 11-12-2010 10:01 AM

If you purchased an older account, it can still apply. IT all depends on how you operate - you can't go gangbusters from the start. Same policies apply.

i was reading the ebay discussion board on ebay and there were a few people complaining about this. One said he was told by ebay that if your account is less then a year old and has less then 100 feedbacks then this could apply to them.Ive heard so many different things u dont know what to beleive.

From what ive been reading it seems that once you try to list more then 10 in the 30 day period it stops you from listing? In my case,i have selling manager pro and it tells me im on a 10 per month limit but it hasnt stopped me from listing and doesnt seem to be keeping track.

It tells me i have 0 active listings and i have over 100,it tells me i have 0 sales and i have 5.This is seperate from the other part of selling manager pro on the left it shows me with 5 sales but specifically under the box where it has the limit information it doesnt seem to be keeping track or restricting me from listing

I've got a new account, only 1 month old and have sold 60+ items no problems. Only thing is the 21 day holding on PayPal which usually goes away when you reach 100 feedbacks

It also has a Lot to do with the Catagorys that you sell in,,,Low risk items are not generally subjected by this Limitation,,,Where as High risk items are,,

Let's also not forget the selling limits in South East Asia are a lot tougher than North America and Europe.

lagoonclub 11-13-2010 08:06 PM

can you please give us some updates on your feedback/listing limit increase situation?

Have you or has anyone else had any luck requesting a higher limit? If so, please share what the steps are! Thanks! PM me if you want. I need to know the answer to the question soon.

I call Paypal everytime I don't receive instant payment. Am always very polite.

Well they must've got sick of me cause tonight I called to ask why the limit button was not on my webpage (had just transferred over $125) and they said they removed the limit. So I said what does that mean? She said I can make as much money as I want now

This isn't what I was asking. I was asking about the ebay selling limit, not PayPal.

Question:

I haven't actually reached the limit. I just know that on my accounts I do have a 10/$500 limit and when I get to the 5-6th listing I get a notice saying I'm close to approaching my limit.

Does anyone know what happens when you reach/break the limit? As in, generate more than $500 for those 30 days, or try to list more than 10.

Does eBay just simply not allow you to do it, or do they actually limit your account and force you to call in or something?

This is exactly my question as well. Still, no one has an answer for us.

lagoonclub 11-19-2010 12:22 PM

Well, I just listed on 1 of my stealths, when the auction ends I will be over the $500 limit for 30 days.

I'll update you on what happens.

lagoonclub 11-20-2010 05:50 PM

When you reach your limit and then try to list again.

You simply get a message on the top of your listing page that says you have reached your limit for 30 days. You then have two links. One taking you to the listing limits help page and one that takes you to verify information to lift your limits.

I think I'm just going to wait it out.

Is this the only information we have? Wow. I am at the place where I need to request a higher limit. Can someone shed some light regarding what questions eBay asks to confirm my identity?
