VPN or Proxy? Running out of ideas
 

I'm getting ready to purchase some accounts from sellers here, and upgrade to a subscribed member, hopefully that will help me out, but dailup is so slow, and i need a new ip address in order to sell on ebay under each user account because my current ip address can no longer be used. My only option is to purchase a VPN, and i know you all don't recommend "Hide-My-IP", but they have the premium service for $7 per month, which will allow you to keep the same ip address of your choice. Is it possible that it would help? Let me know, thanks!

I will tell you as an ebay employee, there are a few vpn services that are not tracked yet or showing up as a proxy. hidemyass.com is 1 of them sometimes.

the reason i say sometimes is when you pick your city and new ip, go to whatmyipaddress.com. after that you will see sometimes it will say no proxy detected, now hit get new ip address in the same city and check again, this time it will show you running a proxy. and just because you pick a city, trust me it dont mean your ip is from that city. vpn's are very tricky and if they go off line and have to reconnect you, you might be in trouble.

1) it may automatically switch to your real ip address for a few seconds if it goes down briefly

2) or when it does come up again it could put you in a completely different state or country and then your popped.

not saying vpn's go down alot or lose conection but it does happen and sometimes you wont even know.. until you see the little balloon in the bottom right saying you are connected now to.........

And you will be like thats weird, i thought i have been connected now for 3 hours.. lol

Your only option is NOT to buy a VPN. There are other choices much better.
However there's a fishy smell around so I'm not saying much more:p

why not drop the dialup and get a faster ISP? Just make sure the service you get has a dynamic IP and you are set!

If you are going to take the VPN route, make sure you get a dedicated IP.
