I believe they tend to look for certain items.

iPhones and software would be two that I think they look at hard. Getting knock offs is a bit of a crap shoot. Some China sellers are pretty good at getting stuff by.

Just keep watch of the tracking and once it gets released from customs you know you are ok

hey guys i bought some silverware from rogers 1847 and some weird spoons from 1704 silverware.
How much can i get for them i cant find them on ebay the rare spoon is not listed from 1704

EVERYTHING goes through customs. I'm originally from a small EU country and customs is tougher over there than the UK! As an example - I ordered some items in bulk from China numerous times and so far they have all slipped through customs without being seized or taxed on arrival.
If it was my home country then ALL incoming shipments from outside the EU with a value over $22(!!!) would get taxed 20% Value Added Tax or get seized if they were ⊗⊗⊗⊗. As you all know the Chinese like to put silly values on huge parcels. The declared value of the one I got last time was $30. I paid $500! The UK - no problem. Back home they would have opened the package, realized that the declared value was less than the actual market value and would have slapped a 20% tax on the package FOR THE REAL MARKET VALUE and not the silly declared amount.

I kind of like UK Customs. :lol:

Search the item, filter the search by feedback and go from there. Any seller could get the items they send out seized. They are of course ways and means of packing a parcel so it doesn't draw attention. But at any time a customs officer could pick out your parcel, it's like playing Russian Roulette.

Weigh up your options and decide whether or not importing items that could be seized is a good idea. At the end of the day there is a risk when it comes down to business and you have to calculate your risks.

Everything is not made in China but yes everything can be made/repro'ed in China ha.

Hardly millions to one. They have thousands of employees and can pick a crate of parcels to go through.

Everything goes though customs, but not every package gets inspected. I've had EMS & DHL packages inspected in the past, I dont think it makes a difference. DHL is a couple days faster.
