Made up name or Researched name for ebay acct?

ive been using stealth completely made up names and addresses to make ebay selling accts,it occured to me that at the very least they might do soft credit pulls, birthday, address and name matching.None would be hard to obtain for a small fee.I definitely dont want to do anything illegal or steal anyones identity,i just want them to assume that the person who registered is legit in a soft verifiable type of way.

Is this safe, has anyone done this? Just find a real person, real address and there real birthday

the 2 things you say contradict each other, you either target someone to use or you dont - would you like it if someone used your details like this? there is a spokeo thread on this on forum..........

please advise where i can find this thread, yes technically i would be targeting someone. My assumption is as long as no photo id or ss is used then its a fairly innocent way to get through a soft verification with no consequences to the person in question.Just an innocent name, address and birthday

Oompa has nailed the issue on the head.

Using an empty house is also another alternative, you can look for houses on sale without inhabitants.

yea the empty house thing is generally what i do,it just seems like the newer accounts im making it says please wait while we verify information when im registering a sellers acct, after about 20 seconds it says it cant verify information and asks if im sure i didnt mispell my name or if i moved recently/So obviously this is a soft creditpull process.Im thinking if you can get past this small part that your less likely to have these new selling limits put on you or itleast not have auctions taken down pending verification which has happened to me twice in the last week.

I do everything right and the way i always have,it seems to be something new they are doing

Not sure why your having that problem I've started using empty houses lately most of the time and never had that problem.

are you using random names and birthdates?

Yeah just last week I made like 5 with random, I don't normally make them with random name and birth date but been trying it out lately and it works so guess I'll continue doing it like that for now.

No, that is not right. NEVER ASSUME.
You have no way of knowing if anything might happen. It borders on being irresponsible to think it would be reasonable to operate in that way.

Regardless of where the thread is, you need to look for alternatives. They exist.:typing:

ya i would say using someones info or close to it on purpose isnt a morally right thing to do.

If i found out someone was doing this to me i would stick the internetz police on them. you never know what is going to happen with an account. not right to put it on someone.

In my opinion, this is not innocent, nor is it moral.

newtools 11-18-2010 04:15 AM

random as always been the way to go with a real address. find something that match's your geo ip location. Like a building with no suite #

If there are 100's at that address there is no way they say you don;t live there, and as Doughboykilla said just hit the verify button again. Nothing is full proof, you may loose an acct here and there. and you just keep plugin away
