Making acct and listing in middle of the night
 

maybe its me being paranoid but this is what i do.i know ebay has workers until 10pm pacific so i start at 1 am and work away.Hasnt failed me yet,when i list during working hours i lose about 1 of 4 accounts within a cpl hours of listing.

Take it for what its worth but i thought i would share.

Nice model of business to see. Hey if it works, why bust it is my thinking. But yes, late night account avoids some manual review - not all but does have some delays.

My theory is when you make your first listing/listings it is reviewed within a few minutes,depending on who is reviewing will determine what happens next.I hear to much conflicting info and have to much conflicting experiences from my accts to think any different.

if you pass 10 cops going 15mph over the speed limit,some will ticket you,some wont.I think ebay works the same way.It just depends on the person looking at your account,obviously having activity on it would look better but listing in the middle of the night i beleive helps.I think by the time they go back to work,there are so many people they have to deal with in real time that many of the overnight listers squeek through the cracks

I have made stealth accounts and IMMEDIATELY listed 1 vero item.

I have also made stealth accounts, listed a regular book, and immediately got MC010 verification.

Most of my listings take place past 1 AM EST.

I dont think theres a magical formula,how many days or how many feedbacks,how many searches etc.All that stuff helps and increases your chances of getting through the first stage but i think each individual who reviews account has there own style and personality.I dont think its as robotic as alot of people think.

Ive had plenty of paypal limitations for example where someone said we need to see such and such,id call back a cpl days later and talk to someone new and say well the person i talked to before said call back with some confirmed deliveries and dont worry about the other stuff.It worked more often then not

It just depends on who your dealing with

im assuming that some are completely automated and some are manually reviewed then,obviously if its after hours then they cant review in real time.I know for me im close to 20 accts doing this and havnt had it happen yet.During the day i was losing about 1 out of 4

btw they are the same listings and same category,just spread through multiple accounts which makes me more sure its not automated,unless you make an obvious mistake like ip or virtual phone issue or something like that where it can kill on contact

I thought I would resurrect this thread as it brings up some interesting points.

My advice when opening up stealth accounts apart fom the obvious mentioned here is to start selling thrift store items, old items from home that is not needed into a regular auction, once that is established intoduce your regular product, so if you sell butons start selling buttons but do not use the same descriptions and templates as other stealth accounts, this will keep you under the radar.
