Idiot buyers and addresses [minor rant]

How can some people be so utterly stupid when buying stuff online that they cant be bothered to make sure they have the right address??

Sold an item for $180, so not all that cheap. As I always do now with anything of any value I email an address confirmation check

"Oh ya I moved a couple years ago, sorry"

First off, had I not checked guess who gets screwed? Me!
Second, I have to spend my time checking that this idiot actually lives there so I dont get screwed.
Third, this tool pulls the good old "not received" I'm still screwed

We have enough that's "our fault" to contend with. Add to it a moron who supplies the wrong address and its BS. I can force the guy to change his address, cancel payment and get him to pay again, sure. Did that 3 times over the years and 2 left nasty feedback that I was hard to deal with.

The only reason I even do address check ups is because I have been burned WAY too many times with a buyer who never supplied the right address....

They lay almost everything on us, at the very least an accurate address on the buyers profile is not too much to ask....

end rant

Other then trying to force him to buy again I'm at the systems mercy here, right? I confirmed the address is legit via reverse phone and name check. So thats cool. I just don't have any PP protection here do I?

This could be an interesting case I guess, if you ship to a confirmed PayPal address and it arrives with signature confirmation. Technically you should win a claim.

Been there, done that. Its a full blown mess when they mess with address. We can not get signatures from USPS, so that blows. And if I win the case by fluke, negative feedback from buyer. And it sucks because the buyer never got his item. But if its because of his mistake, too bad. I have had items as high as $600 with wrong address. Seriously. Guy went ballistic on me because he never changed his address when he moved to another State 7 months before. He threatened to sue..... He won PP anyway.

Morons + Bad system = Misery

That really does suck. I am mainly a buyer, and I always check the address, because I do stay at a couple of different places. I cannot imagine doing anything except taking the rap if I gave the wrong address. That seems like a no brainer.

Seriously, you would think so, no?

I mean you are buying something with your cash and I have to assume where it goes is some what a little important....

This idiot today has brought back a ton of flashbacks to tons of address crap I've dealt with over the years. Of all the bonehead moves a buyer can make, not telling the seller the right place to send it has to be tops....

Surprisingly enough out of the thousands of so buyers, I've had I'd say only 1% has had wrong address. Guess I been lucky and have gotten a smarter group of buyers.

Really. Ya I must have the worst luck. I catch bad addresses at least twice a month.

Yeah I can't imagine how much it must suck having to send "is your address correct emails" to each buyer, especially unbelievable that a $600 purchase would be a wrong address, I mean buyer can't get much more stupid then that.

It is so bad its just one of my cut and paste emails. Bad thing is a few people a year reply with snotty replies "you dont need to confirm my address, just send it"

I must just attract the bottom feeders I guess....

You can avoid some of the snotty comments by probably adding a line or two below saying blablablabla ive had many buyers forget so in order to make sure i get your order to you as fast as possible just would like to confirm, thanks blablablabla

If I get snotty replies for trying to make sure they get what they paid for they can kiss my ass. We have to do enough sucking up over there. I draw the line at apologizing for making sure they get what they ordered....
