Default Apparently something new PayPal is doing.....

I bought a new PP account and just started using it, mostly buying a few things, no withdrawals. I did receive one payment on the account. There was a fair amount of money in it too.

Yesterday PayPal limited the account and is asking for the bank and cc info I opened it with. They just wanted me to verify the info they already have, something about making sure nobody else had tried to use my account.

Well, I did not get that particular info when I bought the account and the seller no longer has it all. I am not laying blame, he says he has never heard of them asking this before. I assumed he had it and I should not have. We are all still learning when it comes to this stuff.

Make sure you get and keep that info. If you buy an account, make sure they give you every number and detail they used.

This normally happens when you sign in from a different ip, may not have been the reason in your case but just saying.

he should have gave it to you,, its not like that bank account is on his paypal account or the credit card..... it can only be used for one paypal account...

ill tell you when this happens,,

when you enter a bank account number in a paypal that has been used and is still active both of you get that little pop up..

it will tell whoever is trying to enter the cc number or bank, this account or card is associated with a previous account,

at that point their bots look up and link to the account it was used on, and send the please confirm your bank and/or cc number..

as soon as you log into your account its a white screen and gives you 2 choices one right above each other, it will show you the last 4 digits of your bank and credit card, you need to fill in the blanks..

if i am right, someone used the same bank account or cc yours was opened with...

I actually used it just a few times before this happened, now I can only get a screen saying I need to verify the cc and bank account before I can use it again.

The only time a different IP was used was when I was having a problem signing on before this happened, the seller signed on just to help me out. That particular problem seemed to just be a fluke, I signed right back on afterwards. It was fine afterwards, until this.

They've done this plenty of times asking you to verify the bank and Credit Card information on file that you opened the account with, in fact they often do it when you call. It's not new.

I put in the cc (from seller) info and it took it. It allowed me to change the password and add security questions, it insisted on it.

Now I am limited and it wants either to verify location with a credit card.....

or an ID and proof of address.

Anyone have suggestions....please?

This is one of the reasons why I make my own stealth accounts.

I always give ALL of the information associated with accounts I sell. Everything, sec questions, answers, full account numbers, visa/mastercard, exp date, cv2 code, everything.... if the account seller you purchased from did not provide this info, you might want to send someone a pm about this.
