ok slander is verbal, this is written so libel.
ok we have 2 issues, if you write a formal letter to business address, you must be careful that they cant deny it, and say its not from them, someone impersonating them, and you need more than that to sue, did they email you from their user ID via ebay or directly, if so how did they get your email?
If you write, and say you will sue for libel, you must have evidence that that they have passed libellous info to another party. If you dont, all you can get them on is making a threat, which is actionable, but there are no third party witnesses, other than the emails, and given you are their competitor too, it could be YOU trying to frame them!
Are they or you a powerseller?
Document all corespondence
what has ebay said if anything?
I would personally tell them you have their details and will sue if you get further threats. I doubt they would actually get far reporting you anyway, if the goods are legit, after all you have supplier docs etc.
