Default using Gmail with eBay

Funny thing happened to me this morning.

My Gmail account has been wiped clean. No contacts. No sent mails, nothing. Except...every email I have ever received from eBay through that address suddenly became "new" again. No email from anyone other than eBay.

I believe the people at eBay have way too much time on their hands. This was no accident.

Has this happened to any one else?

I did not post this on the regular boards as I feel there could be some nonregistered people waiting on this post to pop up. I was not that big on ebay either. Just harrassing the hell out of them for canning me based on 2 negatives from the same buyer (on the same day).

I found it rather odd myself. I had been emailing a couple of old customers begging them to contact ebay about my quality items and great customer service. I got their info off my paypal account.

I sent an email to one guy who left me a negative for two items he purchased at the same time. He was a total jerk and I simply sent him a letter asking him to reconsider and contact eBay to get his negative off my record.

That was about a week ago. I have sent no futher emails to and received none from eBay. Then when I log into my gmail I thought I had received 38 emails from eBay...but they were all old. All of my contacts were gone. Very odd that the eBay mails that had been archived were new don't you think? Its just really weird. Maybe a glitch in the gmail system, I have heard stranger things from there but personall have not had any problems.

eBay advertises on Google so there has to be an alliance of sorts.

That is weird.

Maybe your account was hacked?

Or you gave a password by accident?

It can't be a Google & eBay thing, they just don't take their time to screw you over like this.

I really would see no way that this could be anything to do with eBay, they have no access.

Ebay advertises through google adwords because it has such a vast audience. It's probably these campaigns that has helped ebay become so large.

Not sure why anyone would want to hack that account. But to only leave ebay mails in my account....from a year ago...oh so weird.

I would not have given my password to anyone, not sure how I could have done it without knowing.

It could be just a hit and run where someone did hack me though I have really good passwords on my email. I have seen many complaints about gmail so I am moving over to aol as I have never had a problem with them.

You're right, it is not the two of them working together I am totally too small for that type of time investment. Just so odd that only my eBay emails are still there from so long ago and none of my contacts are there and none of my other saved emails. Too bizarre

I highly doubt that it was user error.

I have seen other posts stating they have lost email as well today on gmail.
