Default Question regarding VPN and other questions

!. Based on the info in the Stealth Book (great book by the way). I think I have decided to go the VPN route and use switchvpn.com. My question is, I have never used a VPN so Im not sure how it works. Is it a website you log onto and then do your search from there or do you have to download something? Also if I am creating multiple user id's can I use the same VPN or do I have to have one for each user id?

2. As for user ideas, I was reading the book and it seems everything is geared towards people on a PC (even downloading the book) good thing I have parallels. Anyways, in system preferences on a mac, us "accounts" the same as creating a "new user account"? Also If I am doing this for the first time, should I clear cookies and flash cookies on the newly created account or will this already be done since it's new?

So with that said, if I wanted to open up 2 ebay/paypal accounts (I don't sale that much, I would only need

1. New Names for each
2. New Address for each
3. New Bank Account For each
4. New user accounts on my Computer
5. One VPN account
6. New Paypal account for each

Thank for the help

Since you are based in the USA, you do NOT need to go the VPN way.
That is a 'suggestion' and at a pinch is for overseas users trying to pretend to be in the USA.

There are many SAFER options for you.

What are you using now?

I was going to go that route because changing my IP address is a pain. I have a cable line however i have 5 people in my house who all have ebay accounts. I really dont want to be linked via ISP to any of there account so I figured that was the best option. Plus I was under the impression if I wanted two ebay/paypal account I would need to switch my IP address every time I log in from one account to the other (even if using different user account). Last time i reset my ip it took 5 hours to get a new one....i don't have that kinda time...unless I'm missing something

Ah, the old share t'internet with housemates scenario. Good thinking to realize you might get linked by virtue of association. (Understanding these small things help anyone become successfully stealth).

I'm starting to sound like a salesperson For ease of internet access, for better control of your accounts, I would recommend checking out these threads:

There's also the consideration of tethering a cell phone. Anyhoos, just a little info for your journey

Even if you plan to just sell a little here and there for extra money, get a separate ISP for yourself. And if you plan to sell a fair bit, getting is a given in your case

For 20 or 30 bucks a month its the single best way to go. You can control your whole world and change IPs and so on. There is too much going on with that shared ISP

VPN's are not for newbies, trust me on this, if you know nothing about them, don't go down that route, it will only lead you into trouble. There are other ways for you to get back on ebay which are already listed by POD & GREENBEAN.

Welcome to the forums Pnkgirl25 - as for your questions on user accounts, once you create spearate user accounts for each ebay account (2 I am assuming based on your indication), you will not have to worry about clearing cookies and such. They are housed in separate user accounts.

Your IP issue has already been addressed by the solid folx so you're good to go. All the best.

I have a similar issue. I have an ATT DSL 2wire with a dynamic IP and so far have been powercycling to get a new IP. I have read that eventually the IP's will recycle and can link me if i don't catch it. I then wanted to try a VPN but maybe i'ts not for me as listed above. Is there any instruction on how to manage my wan mac's or Ips with my 2wire device as mentioned in the ebay Stealth Book. thanks
