Permanent paypal limitation: next steps
 
Hi, I have a question for you guys, I would really appreciate any help that you could give me. Thank you in advance for your time.

Last week, when I opened my Paypal account, I got this message:

" Why do I need to provided additional information about my account?
We require additional information about your account for the following reasons.
Your case ID for this reason is PP-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx
This limitation cannot be appealed."

The notice didn't say what reasons. I didn't get any emails either. I can still sell, received payments, print labels and transfer money with no problem. I'm just bothered that every time I opened my Paypal, I see this message.

Should I call them and ask? I'm scared because this is stealth and they might ask for SSN. What should I expect when I call them? If my Papal account is limited, can I open a new one and link to my ebay account or open a merchant account? What should I do? I want to keep my ebay account if possible. Thank you.

Very odd. Do you owe on an old account?
me, I would use account until it wont let me. A call will likely set something off. If its functioning I would just run with it. However, I would also be under the assumption that at any minute it will get locked down. So another account is in order to be certain

It could be a glitch they would just remove, but I wouldn't risk the call unless account is fairly empty and can be replaced.

You can transfer money? You sure? I know that you will continue to be able to receive money for a while when pa yp al account gets limited before it gets completely locked down

Everything is normal right now. I can post, edit listings even. And yes I have transferred maybe 3x now since I got this message on my Paypal account. The message is on the first page every time I log in. No emails, no reasons, no links to confirm or whatever. It is really weird.

Wow - best to keep operating - don't leave much in there until you get shutdown. Post and edit listings sound like eb ay - different issue though.

I'm getting the same thing on one of my accounts but i can still log in, transfer & receive payments, everything...just like the OP, so maybe it's just a glitch..i hope:noidea:...anyone else??

Might be. I would just carry on as if all is well and hope for the best. Last thing you want to do is point out a limitation. Maybe it will just go away. I wouldn't stack up too much money in the accounts though

I didn't do anything, but the message was gone. It's all back to normal now.

And then today I received an email from Paypal asking me to take a survey: Here is the content of the letter:

We understand that your PayPal account may have been temporarily limited due to questions or concerns by our Account Review team. Thank you very much for your cooperation during this process. We are pleased that your account has now been reinstated.
