Do eBay ever check for banned IPs within a range?

Let's say I used to use an ebay account (now suspended) on the IP address 123.456.789.001, would eBay check the entire subnet (123.456.789.XXX) for suspended accounts if I use my newly created stealth account on the IP address 123.456.789.251 or something?

What if my new IP range is something with a bigger difference, such as 123.456.762.025? How safe are the two scenarios above?

I doubt it. I mean Ebay dont really on IP address alone.


I to this day make Ebay accounts on the same IP as my last one before. IF your selling the same products as before they will catch you but in my case I sell multiple varieties of items. so if I make a new account on a new IP I make sure not to list the same thing as before on the IP

Suppose it is different strokes for different folks.

Someone that is no longer here, told me to be fully new with everything. So I manage to have brand new IPs for accounts.

When you say "Brand new IP", how different are we talking about?

Going from 123.456.789.001 to something like 987.654.321.001?

So many people in a area fall under the same range, so I don't think they do?

You can open a new account under same IP, most will tell you not to because ofcourse you can be link but I do it all the time for the simple fact I sell a variety of items..

Ebay just dont rely on Ip address alone. Its a combination.. Ip, Pics, same items Location bla bla

If you have a custom item that is rare then ofcousre your link. Ebay links you by how often you check emails, log in, ip address,location, pics, they know your style and its all automatic.


I keep telling people its common sense. if you have common sense then you will beat EBay..

A computer/robot/Ebay can only have as much smarts as a human do because we program it

You can change your IP , list items and be linked asap.. I was so called got linked one time because I used another person Ebay pics who was suspended..

Ebay links by passwords as well. Even the way your browse and type... But like I said its a combination of things not just one thing and also your competitor
