Second request for Supplier Invoice form Paypal - a trick or a blessing?

Hello All,

I would once again like to know your opinion on this situation below. Any input is very appreciated.

Me and my partner were selling non-VERO items on ebay from my partner's a/c. Soon enough, paypal got limited asking for supplier info and tracking number. We got these goods from an Australian supplier and had already uploaded tracking info in paypal as soon as the goods got sent. We supplied paypal the real invoice our supplier gave us thinking we had nothing to hide.

Paypal denies the appeal and put a 180 day hold.

Outraged, we ring Ombudsman, who advise to ring paypal to sort it out first before filing a report.

After an hour on the phone, a paypal supervisor escalates the matter to 'Exectuive Escalations'(?). We heard from them yesterday saying they might restore our a/c if we submit invoice from a 'authoried' reseller.

Is this a trick? Are they basically telling us a to submit a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ invoice that looks authentic? Since these are non-vero items, what is an authorised reseller?

We already submitted the original (but somewhat amatuer looking) invoice which they have rejected. Why ask for another invoice from authorised reseller?

Do you guys reckon they're playing us up? OR do we still stand a chance?

FYI the ebay a/c associated with this has been suspended. They're asking the same info for ebay a/c as well to get it restored.

Please tell me what you guys think, we're going a bit edgy in here thinking of all the possible implications from 'Exe. Escalations'!!

Thanks

you submited the real invoice aready? then its hard to submit another...

I suppose you could get a better invoice from this supplier, a good-looking one, if this supplier is legit and contactable, then tell supplier to answer their questions if they call, then call pp and say you have given supplier authority to answer them...if pp dont follow it up, continue with your appeal and ombudsman. Your appeal may or may not be successful but at least you will know youve done everything you can and wait the 180 days. Depending on how much is held in pp, you can go to small claims court, anecdoctally on Uk forum section, forumer bode has won this way. Good luck. another reason why I always say DONT rely on paypal for your income, this happens alot.....

another thing is, if they are referring to authorised re-seller there may be a vero issue. rights ownership is complicated issue and often a brand owner or owner and inventor of original brand that your item is similar to, objects...

..and yes pp may be hinting to help you out....after all it is probably some kind of rights owner on their back, pp get issued with a formal notice from them, and pp have to to cover themselves legally. Do some research and go from there...However my view is, if there is an ownership issue or authorised re-seller issue, you should be made to stop selling items henceforth, BUT holding your money before you have had a warning not to sell I think is underhand...but not surprising,.. :amen:

Ok,,,a Couple of things First off Im Going to Assume the by VERO You mean that you are selling the Genuine Article and not a Replica as Opposed to the Company being a Member of Ebays VERO Program,,,,

If that is the Case there may very well be Replicas of this Item available that you May Know or Not Know about,,,That may be the reason for the Second Invoice Demand,,,

There may also be a Question of Intended Markets (Grey Market Goods),,,You May very well be Buying the Genuine article from an Australian Supplier,,,However those Items are Intended for the Australian Markets,,NOT the North American Market,,,,this May Also be a Reason for the Second Invoice Request,,,

If None of these is the case,,,,,and Paypal Simply wants to Make sure that you are getting your Items from an Authorized Supplier,,,,Then Simply ask your Supplier to get you Proof,,,

Most Companies give their Authorized Suppliers some sort of Certificate indicating that they are Authorized,,Get a Copy of it,,,or Some letter From the Manufacture Stating that your supplier is an Authorized Supplier,,,

Just my thoughts,,,,Good Luck,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
