Does ebay send bait messages?
 

On occasion I would get messages from "ebaybuyers" that seemed oddly inquisitive about my items. Asking strangely probing questions about where I get my stock and who makes it.

Is it wise to just not reply? Or give generic "I'm not sure" polite answers? I always do everything I can to make my customers happy (and quiet) but sometimes I feel like I am being baited with questions I am just not going to answer. I wonder if ebayis behind this?

Do not respond. That's the best thing you can do.

Probably just nosy buyers / competitor. When you feel like being baited, follow that instinct. There's always enough people to buy your stuff.

And even if it's a REAL buyer, then he/she is just going to be one that's a PITA.

When i get nosy rosy asking questions I place their ebay id in my BLOCK list!! Nothing but trouble like GreenBean said!!

Ya if they are already asking ?s that should be obvious or idiotic like where I get my stock from I pray they dont bid and never answer.

I like the block list idea.

If they ask me too many nit picky questions, I block them.
