ebay limits to sell: I am getting sick of this !!!

Ok this is ridicules! MY DSR is in good standing and yet when I try to relist or sell similar item it says I am being restricted from listing a new item because of my low DSR. I went to my seller account > Seller Dashboard

Policy compliance is HIGH

Buyer satisfaction is GOOD

Account status is Current

Basically everything is GREEN so what could be the problem ????

Red X 02-13-2011 09:03 PM

I would contact ebay about this, but then again it would probably be a waste of time, they never listen. Is this account new, or older than 90 days? Also, is it restricted period, or restricted in a certain category?

This account is more than 3 month (since JULY 2010) with 84.6% (has 2 negative feedback). Seems like everything was just fine until I got my 9th positive feedback about 2 days ago. It is not restricted to any category but I have been posting in the same category since the beginning.

stevesokol21 02-14-2011 02:14 AM

ouch. those negatives could be putting a restriction of some kind on your account. you couldnt resolve those transactions? 84.6 looks pretty rough to even sell to. i would be buying some useless stuff to get that rating up.

stanislav 02-14-2011 01:14 PM

Well I had no issue selling 9 products in a row, each around 500$. So I am not sure what is the problem. If everything is green in my Seller Dashboard I shouldn't be having problems selling anything.

Seems like you've answered your own question. To be honest, you're lucky not to have the account closed permanently with 84.6% feedback. Let it cool down for 3 months then start selling again. Buy some items here and there in the meantime.

Are you saying that if I buy items on eBay and sellers leave me feedbacks it will make my overall score higher and eventually eliminate my restrictions?

rsot 02-14-2011 03:30 PM

You have to get your % higher - imjustme is wise on these matters. Buying some items will help with feedback but at 84.6% you are in serious doo-doo - why's the percentage so low? What are people complaining about?

Okay first of all ... How is it that 2 negative feedbacks that I received long time ago have an affect on my selling only now? It's already the2ND time it's happening to me. When I had 8 feedbacks I had the same problem but it went away and now all of the sudden when I received my 9th feedback it seems that the problem is back. Also how many feedback I must get in order to have a decent score? What sort of item I should buy? Is it okay if I buy physical items that cost only a few 2 dollars ?

84% puts you on a list of sellers to be watched.

You need to work extra hard to get your & above 95.

Work on getting this up and use other backup accounts as you get this one back up above the 95%.

Good tip! But my question is ... Would it be okay if I was to start buying cheap items on ebay in order to accumulate enough positive feedback?

stanislav 02-15-2011 02:40 AM

. I have been using this account since July of last year and got 2 negative feedbacks right from the get go because I wasn't willing to sell this product for what the winning price ended up. Other than that I only got positive feedbacks.

GreenBean 02-15-2011 03:00 AM

The two negatives affect your DSRs for up to 12 months. I'm thinking that what happened was the account was too new when it got hit with negatives. That makes it really hard to get to the preferred seller level ( as Sandy D mentioned).

ebay is rather mean: they want FB to come from selling much more than buying if that account was a selling account from its start.

What to do? Hopefully in 16 weeks, those negs drop off. Think of trying to limit selling for say 3 weeks. Buy some items, get in FB. Then consider calling ebay & ask if you might list the same item that you have previously listed. Have a talk, like we have just done in this thread, you might get someone who will be helpfull. Right now I really really recommend being careful in case you get stopped compeletly.:juggle:

What will happen if I was to list on my other account that has the same info as this one? I have opened it about a month ago but never listed anything on it?

GreenBean 02-15-2011 03:50 AM

You may list on that account BUT you must ensure that the listing differs in every way you can.

Can't use the same photos, wording etc. :tears:

again, ebay are mean with this. Obviously the easiest way would be to copy & paste the listing etc. ebay dont want that and punish sellers for doing that.

I'm adding the warning: be careful with this account as well. Why? although ebay let users have more than one account, they can & do take down both accounts if there is troubles on one. So at the moment, being careful is most important for you :peace:
