do i have to sell?

Ok, i just listed a laptop on there and the winning bidder shipping address is in nigeria!!! It just closed out. My question is do i have to sell to the winning bidder? Can i re list it without incurring additional seller fees?

I am gonna start listing my auctions with shipping to CON USA ONLY from now on

Edit: I had 15 dollars for shipping, i just calculated the shipping to nigeria on the USPS site and it is $73 dollars.

Melissa1971 02-28-2011 09:41 PM

I only ship within the US, so who knows. I assume you've agree to ship internationally?

A ton of scammers come out of Nigeria. You should never sell to anyone located there.

Good luck. Sorry that happened

menaice 02-28-2011 09:43 PM

No i didn't agree to international shipping

Then no way can you ship it anyhow. They need to fix that glitch before your Ebay account goes down. I would contact EBAY asap.
My guess is the buyer isn't for real nor verified and will be banned anyhow.

The odd thing is... is the buyer has 14 feedback and as buyer 100 percent

Edit: should i just do the second chance offer the the next highest bidder?

Melissa1971 02-28-2011 10:39 PM

I would contact Ebay first.

Beware of ⊗⊗⊗⊗ spoof emails, apparently they look just like Paypals. You can go into your Paypal account to see if he paid you.
He can always do a chargeback

There are warnings about Nigeria here-
Ebay boards http://forums.ebay.com.sg/thread.jsp...adID=500000681

You will probably end up doing a second chance offer on that other guy.

There are some pretty smart folks here :hail: they will probably chime in soon

Update: Worse customer support i have received from ebay thus far, they were unwilling to help me, even thou my auction stated in the shipping agreement for USA only and the buyer is from nigeria. They told me that "they buyer may pay for it" WHAT!!! I told them i did not even want the buyers money and would not ship the item. I had to use the resolution center to fail a cancellation claim and now have to wait 7 days.

Ebay you have yet again made my life easier

Boy that is some crappy service. They at least should have told you to ask the buyer to cancel the transaction

Personally if he had refused t0 cancel, I would have just kept his money. That's how you know he is scamming and will do a chargeback when he gets the item

I just got a lady who filed a dispute who will probably escalate it to a claim. Either way I don't care cause account can likely stand it but Paypal reserved money for her without hearing my side WHILE begging me to replace the money they stole

And to top it off, they charged me a dollar fee to rip me off!!!!

I owe Ebay about a hundred dollars. Tomorrow we are closing our bank account and the credit card on file is already void so I guess I wont be paying them their hundred

just recieved an email from ebay
"Hello xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,

We recently learned that someone was using an account to bid on items without the account owner's permission. For this reason, we have canceled all bids on the following listing:

the laptop

All associated fees have been credited to your account. Please note that we're working with the account owner to prevent any additional unauthorized activity.

If you have any concerns or questions, click "Customer Support" at the top of most eBay pages.

We're sorry for any inconvenience, and we thank you for your patience and cooperation.

You can set your settings to not accepet paypal payments from accounts outside the US if you like. I would guess it should work for any country. Dont rmember where this is done, as this stuff is never easy to find.

[QUOTE=menaice;208383]The odd thing is... is the buyer has 14 feedback and as buyer 100 percent

I love it when a buyer tells me they have 100% positive feedback. There is no way a buyer can have anything other than positive with the new system.
