Is it possible to sell used computer with software or will ebay object??

Hi,

Just looking to avoid trouble. I just got a new laptop I am going to sell my old one on eBay. I did an ebay search on used computers and noticed that there very few if any being sold with any software besides the os. My laptop has Office 2007 and I was thinking I will get more if I leave it on there. Just wondering why it appears no one else is leaving software on the used computers being sold???? Thanks in advance to any one who can enlighten me.

I Know that Ebay has A LOT of No-No's in regards to This,,I Suggest you read their Policy Carefully

I have sold literally a 100+ used computers during the last 6 years.

I have purposely put Microsoft Office and several other programs on them to "Sweeten the Pot" for a better sale.

I have never had a issue, but that is not to say with eBay's ever changing rules there may be something new I am not aware of?

I always research before I list. When I saw almost no one selling software on their computers it almost begs the question as to why. TGMT have you sold computers with software recently??

Last one was about 8 months ago.

I have found that I can make between 3-5 times more parting them out. Many Laptop displays will almost sell for as much a complete laptop. Same can be said about the Motherboard.

Also the Hard Drive brings in a good amount. After that you can sell whats left in one shot or keep on going with the Power Supply, RAM, Keyboard, Lid, Hinges, Bezel...etc etc etc :D

BUT: DO NOT try and sell the Operating Restore Software discs!

I too have sold quite a few numbers of used computers in the past. If you're going to bundle software with it, eBay won't mind it at all. However, you should mention that all software included with the computers are to be considered as complimentary gifts. If the buyer doesn't like it or want them for any reason, he or she should simply uninstall it their own.

I have sold several laptops myself. I only included the software that would normally come with that laptop and included licenses. I made sure to state that the licenses were included. Usually it was just the OS and whatever version of MS Office I had.
