Halifax & HSBC saving accounts/isa's

Sorry might be a n00b question but can you not set up a direct debit to paypal with hsbc or halifax saving accounts? ive tried the web saver with both companies but the direct debit agreement has been declined with both! is it worth trying a different saving account? or even an isa? and yes both my current accounts are banned from paypal ;-( maybe the only option is to try and find another current account? ive heard RBS are good and work with the basic account? any advice would be much appreciated! thanks!

if you cant be bothered to read all that in short can you use hsbc or halifax savings or isa accounts to set up paypal direct debits? if so which ones allow direct debit? Thanks!

Thread edited to remove the SHOUTING and moved to subscribers' forum.

Neither of your suggestions work. I realise as a nooB you have heaps to read and take on board. To help that end, here's a thread created by aspkin that should assist.

Page one of above thread has the UK banks. It is preferable to use an account that allows the direct debit mandate. I prefer to use current accounts for that. Your idea of RBS as a bank is good. Rather than a savers though, look at making a key account with them. This bank has an advantage in that more accounts can be made online after the 1st account is created.

Read the thread & do feel free to pm me if you promise not to shout ;)
