DBA and / or LLC?
 

Hello everyone,
I need some advice.

Ebay recently blocked three of my accounts, so I am starting from scratch.

I am going to set up a new address, bank acct and phone number. I just changed my IP and computer name while cleaning all cookies etc.

If I get a DBA ( a persons name not a "business name") and get a EIC will I be relatively safe on eBay and PayPal?

Do I need to get a LLC (do I need to use a persons name for the business?) and then have a DBA under it?

Is having an LLC and having a DBA under it make it easier if I have another ebay acct closed just creating another DBA under the LLC with new contact info?

Can I have several DBAs under the one LLC and have each for a different eBay acct?

I loved eBay stealth and all of you seem to know so much than I.

Can anyone help me with this? I am going slow and am not wanting to make a stupid mistake and have to start all over again.

The ONLY Thing that having an LLC or any type of Corporate setup will do for you is with Paypal NOT Ebay,,Since you will have and be able to provide Paypal with an EIN Number Paypal will be Less Inclined to ask you for a Social Security Number,

But Palpal having an EIN Number on file for you is NO Guarantee that Paypal will not at some point ask for you Social Security Number Anyway, But it Does get you Past the U.S. Governments New Tax Reporting Requirement

As for the accounts Stability Both Paypal and Ebay will Suspend or Limit your account Just as easily or Just as Quickly,,it does NOT Matter if the account is Personal or Business

I'm not sure of the ebay specifics but in another area i've been researching a lot about LLC's and DBA's. The problem you are going to run into is that a lot of this depends on which state you decide to LLC in. All of them have slightly different rules/regulations. DBA's as well are called many different things such as 'fictious names', etc. depending on the state/county.

From what i've researched you can often take a DBA without an LLC and therefore create a new bank account with your assumed name as the person on the account. How this will interact with paypal and ebay. . someone here has got to know.

I hope this helps you out a bit. . I recommend researching a bit more on the ebay/paypal connection with LLC's and if you can confirm this will work, going out and then researching different states rules on DBA's, LLC's and talking with your bank about business accounts, etc.
