Unwarranted negative feedback

I have put up items at a fixed price and was doing fine. Then I had someone pretend to buy 12 of the items (commit to buy but not actually pay) just to leave negative feedback. I looked at this persons account and they were selling the same thing but for more money. So I put replied to the negative feedback then put them back on. Then it kept happening again and again and again with different users. You can tell its the same person with multiple accounts just trying to get rid of me. Ordering several items at a time just to get the add off and leave neg feedback. They are not even smart about it either, they would ⊗⊗⊗⊗ buy something then leave neg feedback 2 mins later. Even though you can look at the ad and see that the feedback was left the same day the ad was up. With neg comments like, "Scam, sent an empty box".
The question I have is what should I do? I don't want to speak with a customer service person that will probably get that taken care of but also want me to fax in receipts of all the stuff I sell cause I have nothing to give them. My feedback from the REAL buyers is good but I know how the customer service works and I don't want to have to deal with faxing in receipts that I don't have. Any feedback would be helpful.
Thanks

Also the reason why I can't provide receipts is because some of my items would be considered Vero. Most customers don't care though since they are getting the same thing for less than half the price. If the do have a problem I send them full refund no questions asked.

I don't want to get in a jousting game with negative feedback. I just want get that a-hole off my feedback without dealing with ebay to much.

Anyone know the best way about going about this?

If you sold legit items you would not be in this situation.

I bought some nike trainers in good faith - they arrived and I knew they were ⊗⊗⊗⊗. I saved up a long time for them as I dont have a lot of money so as you can imagine, I was mad.

I jumped on my motorbike and drove 50 miles to the mans house and got my cash. He was lucky I was in a good mood.

Since then, I am against fu fu items so all I can say is you have dug your own hole.

Sorry its not a helpful post but thats how it is.

Its because of fu fu sellers that eb has had to clamp down making it harder for legit sellers. When eb changes it rules or limits the fu fu sellers, they get upset - I dont understand why when they are selling knock offs - its a strange world

You need to contact eBay against this issue. This is another reason why you should enable Immediate Payment.

In some parts of the world "fu fu" is a food. If you take away people's food they die.

Ebay is not going to ask you for receipts most likely. Now if it was Paypal it would be another story.
The choice is yours. You can either contact Ebay about it and get the feedback removed and the other buyer suspended or just suck it up and keep letting them do it over and over again to you. Time to get your big boy pants on.

Well it happened just like I thought it would, he kept doing in in different accounts. Was either hacking into accounts or using stealth accounts. Selling the same thing I was for a higher price. I did a little research and I wasn't the only one he was doing it to. I also had one of the accounts that did it to me send me a message today and say they had no knowledge of what had taken place and thought their account was hacked in. So I finally said F it and called ebay. The lady put me on hold for a half an hour then said that it needed some serious investigating and they would call me back withing 24 hours. Next thing you know 2 hours later my account is suspended. Awesome, I saw it coming but it really pisses me off that it was somebody trying to be so greedy that they had to make everybody look bad so he could get his sold. So now its back to getting some more accounts and messing with getting it set up again but if this guy is just going to keep doing this then its not even worth it. To the person that bought the shoes, I understand you would be mad if you got something fu fu that you thought was real. But if I am selling something as brand new at 40% of regular retail price then you have to know that it is a copy. These are workout dvds too, most people are thrilled to get them at the price. If not i send refund, no worries.

giggidy123 03-18-2011 12:43 AM

Went ahead and withdrew my money off paypal before they tried to do anything on there.

yotano211 03-18-2011 01:18 AM

just withdraw a little at a time

stevesokol21 03-18-2011 03:44 AM

i do know that if the items are not paid for, and a FVF credit is issued, the feedbacks are automatically removed. u do know that dont you?

everyone should know this if they sell on ebay.

if someone leaves a bad feedback and doesnt pay, i dont even care b/c i just get them all removed after about a week.

hope this helps someone at least.

steve

Just a word of advice. You said that your selling workout dvds and if it P90X then you may want to google Johnson and Pham. They are the attorneys that represent Beachbody and they will attempt to sue you. Just a few months ago they got a $2.2 million judgement against a guy who sold I think it was 110 P90X on Ebay. Remember that just because a account is stealth doesn't mean they still can't track you down if they want.

I dont see anywhere in OP where it says items were fufu, the way I am reading it, OP is saying that buyer is possibly a competitor. If no payment made you should be able to get ebay to remove neg but otherwise if they pay, not alot you can do. These are all different addresses you are sending to? seems rather elaborate - they really want you out. This is one of the most troublesome issues I see on forum actually..this practice..

GreenBean 03-18-2011 05:13 PM

It does not make it correct to sell the foo-foo items just because 'others' are doing it.
You are selling in a category that is highly competitive. You run the risk of getting the listings pulled as they are vErO or being done by competitors.

If it was any other sort of item, you would be within your rights to go to ebay & get the neg removed. You would also have the option of making your listing private but I appreciate you might not get sales....

Time to think carefully about what to sell :pop2:

jeffweico 03-18-2011 10:47 PM

I have seen this on eBay and it seems to happen more with the "foo-foo" items. But regardless of authenticity, if you are selling in a popular category, expect other sellers to use underhanded tactics to make sales. That is just the nature of the beast.

giggidy123 03-22-2011 07:05 PM

2.2 million seems like an awful lot for someone who sold 110 p90x dvds. So just to clarify things that was said above. If someone doesn't pay for something their feedback will just automatically drop off?

dakota5369 03-22-2011 08:34 PM

my account is recently suspended and i am just going through the final details to finish off with remaining customers. the one and only thing that i find satisfying is now that i am not worried about feedback, when i get customers contact me and threaten me with bad feedback, i get to tell them to go shove it. its happened about 3 times now

I just got a neutral FB that said "GREAT!" I don't know if I should laugh or cry. I think I'll just go ahead and laugh.

Speak to eBay Live Customer Support. Surprisingly, they've helped me out a lot.

giggidy123 03-24-2011 01:02 PM

Ebay customer support did not help at all, they told me they would look into it and call me back. Instead got no call and found out they suspended my accounts. I find it best to stay away from talking to them at all if you can.
