Default My paypal limitation mess!!

Hello again all,

I had posted last month about my paypal mess and told everyone I would keep them updated. I am sorry I failed to do so but after paypal decided to keep my money the hits did not stop coming limiting the time I had to be posting on the internet.

I am so mad about this issue......I have had to sell my car and buy a cheaper one to get some cash in my pocket directly after paypal limited my account and now in the process of moving all of this is a direct result of paypal limiting my account.

I provided them with all the information they wanted, I never had any negative feedback and yet they still limited my account for 180 days. I have called them and politley told them I am a single father of a 13 year old son and I really need that money, I do not care if they close my account forever but I need the money now, I can not wait 6 months, the plea's fell on deaf ears.

Funny I got an email from them on 3/15 explaining their will be a 21 day hold on all new money coming into the account and when positive feedback is left it will be released. Hmmmm............

So I posted something on ebay and bought it now with a stealth account and left positive feedback..*THIS IS THE ONLY TIME I EVER DID A TRANSACTION BETWEEN MYSELF AS I WANTED TO SEE IF I WOULD ACTUALLY GET THE MONEY*

I left postive feedback and no money, I called paypal........sorry sir your account is limited.

Well........I gathered up all the information on the entire mess and went and visited my attorney who feels very strongly they messed up by sending the 21 day hold email when they had no intention on releasing the money in 21 days due to the limitation.

I have lost my car, home and property due to this issue and paypal could care less. It has been well over 2 months since my last sale on ebay and they have no real reason to hold on to the thousands of dollars they have but meanwhile I am out here in the real world with the worst job market in 2 decades slowly losing everything I have trying to explain to my son why it is happening and trying to keep my head up at the same time.

My lawyer is digging into things to decide if we have a case or not.

Quote:
Your payments will be held in a pending balance

We're writing to let you know about a change to your PayPal account.

Starting 3/15/2011, money from payments you receive will be placed in a pending balance for up to 21 days. By doing this, we're making sure that there's enough money in your account to cover potential refunds or claims.

Even though you can't access the money right away, please ship orders quickly and communicate with your customers. After 21 days, you can withdraw money from each payment as long as the customer hasn't filed a dispute, chargeback, claim, return, or reversal.
The money may be available sooner if:

1. We can confirm that the item was delivered.
2. Your buyer leaves positive feedback. (Applies only to eBay items)

This change isn't necessarily permanent. We'll review your account every 35 days and re-evaluate if we should continue to hold your payments. If we decide to stop holding payments, we'll email you to let you know.

Why are my payments being held?
We reviewed your account and determined that there's a relatively higher than average risk of future transaction issues (such as claims, or chargebacks, or payment reversals). We understand that it may be inconvenient to have your payments temporarily held but please know that we didn't make this decision lightly.

Before deciding to hold payments, we consider many factors. These factors include account and transaction activity, the rate of customer disputes, the type of business a seller runs, average delivery timeframes, customer satisfaction, performance and history.
Very misleading.......why would they send me this if my account has been limited and can not be appealed. Paypal better get ready to PAYUP.

Wish you all the best - I know all about Pa yp al being the mess that it is and you can bet that you are not the only person being severely affected.

You might as well keep calling them every 30 days to see if they can re-evaluate your account for fund release.

Hello Tokie,
Your story sounds very similar to mine. The paypal bs can ruin a good person. I also hate telling my daughters they can't get a $10.00 or less item at the store because I have no money. We usually use that excuse when we don't want to buy them something, it's very sad when it's the truth.

Good Luck, Man!!

I'm sorry to hear about your situation, this is why I don't use paypal. You should think about trying some alternatives, just my opinion, even MB would be a BETTER option for you, a 40 day hold from MB is better than a 180 day hold from pp ANY DAY. WISH YOU THE BEST!

Thanks for the kind words. I am sure I will pull thru this and I am sure their are many, many more on these forums in a similar situation. I wish everyone that is the best of luck and may God Bless.

It really is to bad a powerhouse of a company is so unforgiven in their policies. I am done with ebay personally, I will one day get my money from paypal and will be done with them as well, in the 4 months I have left I hope to get back on my feet and then that money will be a bonus.

When I read that some power sellers on ebay happen to be ebays top customer support people I was disgusted at how much inside info they can obtain from competitors.........no wonder they request supplier information and all. Makes you wonder just how this information is being used. I bet we find out in the discovery process of a lawsuit.

Thanks for the supportive words, I also hope anyone and everyone else going through this make it through. God Bless.

I would look into alternatives if I had start up money again. LoL they put me out of business! Funny thing is I dont disagree with protecting buyers from fraudlent sellers and a 21 day hold is not bad, I can see that. I however dont see the 180 day hold and somehow will get this whole story out to the world because it seems to me paypal and ebay need some regulation.

I was shocked when I found out top level employees of ebay are also power sellers, what kind of company allows this?? If ebay owns paypal they have a tremendous advantage and can easily put competition out of business and i bet this is what is happening with all of these limitations.

Anyhow dont count me out yet and plan on hearing my name in the news soon, my story will be told and ebay will have to answer to someone..........soon.

I really also think top level power sellers are ebay customer support who work at ebay and they want alot of competition out. Personally its sad. Ebay will oneday go out of popularity.

PayPal limited my accounts while I was in hospital after a stroke. They could care less so if they have no mercy for me no one else has a chance.
