warning new thing re direct messaging on eb
 

Am I mistaken? but Ive been logging in to ebay messages and find messages that I send direct from my email (not logged in to eb) to other person, I reply to the eg. jsdksdkmember@ebay email from my hotmail or whatever and it should go direct to other persons email not hitting ebay message log and not end up logged on ebay messages, however somehow its on there...

always saw on forum this was safe ie to tell people off the record stuff...but maybe Ive mixed it up with reply direct to other persons actual email eg oompa@hotmail.com - if so, Ive made some big boo boos here, been sending linked return addresses this way, oops...

I think there is a glitch - I just e-mailed from ebay direct and message did not go through. I also tried direct from e-mail (since I am not worried about IP logged) and also did not go through.

I don't think your e-mails would be linked unless the individual of the e-mail reported you...

and not new policy, where they capture it and add it to messages....

well I mean if ebay read your messages, and youve given say a return address thinking you are safe to do so, and its linked address, well thats an issue...

I will keep an eye on it over next few weeks and post back

also upon seraching this, yes it has been deemed safe by forum, there was also some advice by vic a while back that I just re-read stating you should copy and paste the memeber email in to a new email for reply in case there has been a bug planted in it by ebay.....too complicated
