Just found this today!

Rather than being able to complete the final step by phone you now have to "Upload your documents"!!

It is for me, you have to click the smaller thumbnail image and its goes bigger.

I don't follow the question - now you have to send in your ID and docs.

Are you opening a Business account or personal?

But this is new, before you would simply verify the phone number.

The account has never been limited.

Hmm i had this i think you go to where you add a credit or debit card, and it say's link and confirm card, and you click confirm and you're done, i could well be confused though

I have made a few test accounts and it happened to all of them, they changed it today :eek: :rant:

Nope this is a different thing to that, this is the step you must do to remove to £1900 limit.

I know but I think confirming card takes away problem for some reason. I failed phone verification and this sorted it out.

I can confirm that this has just happened to me aswell. I made an account and need to fax ID & proof of addy, straight off the bat :shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked:

IF paypal are now asking for these documents straight off the bat in the UK, we fax, and they accept, would that not make the paypal a bit stronger? So this would most definatly slow things down when creating accounts but might make a stronger longer lasting paypal if treated correctly, Just a thought

^ I agree - but I have had 'strong' accounts in past where I sent lots of id etc. - coz I had an big spike in sales and cash, they moaned and shut me down - all I know is they got my driving license. passport and my damn good looking picture - and for what - no account - thanks eb

... and I can confirm this is what is happening at the moment re. sending in docs.

Lets hope its one of their 'glitches' or some wise guy/gal a r z licker with his/her silly hair brained idea that wont work and will surely be clogging up their system and loosing them lots and lots of cash

This document crap has also hit my 1year month old TRS account. Jeeze i thought aged accounts would be save. :shocked:

Yeah I think that once you get over the ID issue then hopefully it will be plain sailing

Has happened to me with one recent account and not with another :D

I contacted PayPal and they said the account needed to go through ID, Bank Statement verification because they could not contact my registered phone number.

This did happen within days of opening the account, before I started selling.

Seems like that is the case with any PayPal account.

Has anyone ever had to send in the docs twice for the same account? :noidea:
