E-Bay Card Confirmation

Hi guys. I've managed to set up my new stealth paypal account and also ebay account. However, I have tried to sell on ebay and now they are asking me for my bank card or credit card confirmation. I have linked my ebay account to my paypal account, set up direct debit to fund the ebay account to for seller fees but I can't go any further until I enter some card details.

Any ideas folks? Will a gift card work or do I need an actual debit or credit card?

Is this the reimbursement payment method?

Apple on Head 04-20-2011 06:18 AM

Hi. Not sure. I thought by linking the paypal a/c to the e-bay account that would suffice but they say that they need a card - it's to do with them being able to take their seller fees from me. I've done all the other verification, including them phoning me etc. but in order to sell they have said they need a debit or credit card number. Just wondered if a 3V e-voucher would work, has anybody used one of these successfully with e-bay.

I was all set to go and buy one but then I thought I remembered somebody on the forum saying that they work ok for Paypal but not for e-bay - a liitle clarification please.

How would you prefer to pay your fees?

Well you can pay your fees with PP, they do not require a card for that, so its not that.

Sound like the reimbursement payment method.

When you create a seller's account, you're prompted to add a payment method that's used for both seller fees and reimbursement. You can add or change your reimbursement payment method by going to the Financial Information section of the Personal Information page in My eBay. Your reimbursement payment method will be used for all current and future cases.

You can use PP for this ^

Is your PP fully verified, not sure if this matters though, perhaps if a card is on your PP?!?!

I am struggling to find out without you giving some more ifo.

Why don't you give the message ebay gives...would help

Hi. Sorry for the confusion. OK, when I try to sell the item eb ay says 'you're almost there - complete one of the following'. When I press next the following message comes up:

You're placing an automatic payment method on the file to pay for the following:
• eBay Fees
All fees related to your selling activity on eBay ("eBay Fees"). eBay fees will be charged on an automatic basis.
• Amounts you owe under the eBay Buyer Protection Policy ("eBP Reimbursements")
The eBay Buyer Protection Policy ("Policy") helps buyers if they have a problem with a purchase. If a seller does not resolve the buyer's problem and the Policy applies, eBay will arrange a refund for the buyer. The amount of the refund is determined in accordance with the Policy. You, in the capacity of a seller, authorise us to collect variable amounts (representing the reimbursement made to the buyer by eBay) from the payment method you select here. You acknowledge and agree that your authorisation will be made on an automatic basis and on various dates as and when refunds are made to buyers under the Policy. The Policy is subject to change and you will be charged in accordance with the current version
By choosing a payment method below, you authorise eBay to collect both eBay Fees and eBP Reimbursements. You can change your payment method by going to My eBay.

I choose Paypal, they then do the phone verification again, no worries - I enter the verification code, I am then taken to paypal, login there and it is paypal who then ask me to add a card to my paypal account.

Hope this is clear for all. OK - (everybody says read read and read stealth guide again). I now realise that it is paypal who is asking for my card details. I don't have one. If I put in a v3 voucher or something like that will it suffice?

Thanks for your help with this

No problem, I thought it may have been this, I just couldn't remember the exact process.

Well done anyway, good luck.

Hey buddy I am in EXACTLY the same boat as you.

I'm not an experienced stealther but is the bank account that you added to you pa yp al verified, as in, have you completed the process where they deposit 2 small amounts?

If it isn'y verified then that could be a problem as mine isn't verified just yet.
Why dont you use en tro pay?

Apple on Head 04-20-2011 07:10 AM

tried entropay, jumped through all of their hoops with my own details, bank details address etc., even sent them a scan of my bank card and driving licence - they said NO, no reasons why just NO so drew a blank with them.

ats101 04-20-2011 07:19 AM

Ok I see, well I have applied too in the same way, I sent them exacly the same documents as you, so chances are, it's a fail for me too.

Is you bank account added to pp verified?

GreenBean 04-20-2011 08:03 AM

@apple & ats,

If you used stealth info to create entropay, that's a likely reason you got knocked.

entropay needs a real name and a real funding source, credit or debit card. :pop2:

Hi. I used my actual details for entropay, not stealth ones. Send them my driving licence and a copy of my bank card - both sides with parts of number blocked at their request - knocked back.

GreenBean 04-20-2011 08:18 AM

I read that just now. Entropay has been strange for months. I've noticed a few UK sellers have been prevented from using them. rahter annoying.

Have you looked at using 3V-cash? :pop2:

Imakemoney 04-20-2011 02:28 PM

I can confirm as of 2 weeks account 3V was still good to go with ebay.

Simon Cards work great for paypal. Here they have them at our local malls but not sure other locations. maybe online would have it in their website?. I do know they work though.

They are all in UK, not USA...
