I really do not recommend you do anything. The chances of them finding out your MAC address from just browsing their site are slim to none, and I highly doubt they will ever put ActiveX controls on their website to find users' MAC addresses since your browser will automatically block it and tell you that it's been blocked for your safety, and that would look really unprofessional for ebay.

If you're not using any downloaded programs from ebay, I'd say you have nothing to worry about here.

I disabled java console on mozilla and ebay still works ok....

is the safari browser dangerous, Im sure I notices when using it it holds a java applet right?

also on another note, make sure quicktime is not loaded on your system, as it holds files that can be viewed on each user via browser checker eg panopticclick

some solutions maybe can help you:

1. avoid any cookies, and another files from ebay and paypal use this

clean all your cookies, history, etc before you install deepfreze.
once you install deepfreze, your computer will be fresh ( all cookies, history, and others files will be deleted and back to the deepfreze checkpoint ) every time you restart/reboot it.

2. you can change your mac address and mac brand as you want.

^Deepfreeze is a very good suggestion as it basically puts your computer back the way it was. So nothing has been changed again.

But people should leave their tracking data where it is!!

What about if you use direct connection like directly from the modem to your pc do you have to spoof anything?

there is no tracking data on your computer when using deepfreeze.
i use deepfreze but my computer is fresh install.
first i install my computer with windows. installing another browser and another important application.
do not open paypal or ebay when the deepfreze opened or still not installed.

proof, i made a changes for my computer registry and folder name, but when i restart my computer, all changes back to the check point.

All NICs have mac addresses. Each device will have a different MAC address i.e. your Ethernet LAN and Wireless NIC will have different MAC addreses.
