Trying to transfer money to bank account, but can't!!!!

Hey there,

I'm basically in the middle of attempting to transfer £460.00 from my mother's paypal to her bank account.

When I type in her sort code and account number, its saying that bank account is linked to another paypal account.

I really don't know how to get around this, as I haven't got alternative bank account details to give paypal. I can't use my account details, my fathers or my sister's cuz they are each linked to their own account. All are all limited including my mother's.
She has just passed her 180 day payment hold (we received an email to say we are now eligible to withdraw the funds).

Paypal continue to make our lives highly inconvenient, who cares what bank account this is going to as long as its in her name, right?!!!!...Is there any way around this?

Have you got the correct numbers? Is there any way you have made a mistake with them?

Have you got your info for the accounts to check? :pop2:

Jensalt 04-30-2011 09:17 AM

It's definitely correct, 100%. Or it would probably say unrecognised or error. Instead it says that it's linked to another account.

Sad to say - it has been used by someone:suspicious:

Jensalt 04-30-2011 09:23 AM

I think I may have used it ages ago with my account. But this is so frustrating. There must be an alternative way of getting money that is owed to my mother!!!!

Needs a new account hon - go along to Nat West and get a basic account - transfer money in and shut down A/c - or let PP keep the money. :typing:

I already have natwest account. Is there any way of creating a virtual bank account?. PS, there's no way in HELL am letting paypal keep that money lol.

GrannyT 04-30-2011 09:36 AM

Has the Nat West account been used? They are good for our purposes - if it hasn't been used use that one - if it has been used you need a new one - simples . .:amen:

Can't I give them a call about this? As long as my mother proves her identity right? opening a new bank account takes over a week and i need that money now

Imakemoney 04-30-2011 10:20 AM

the account is not limited is it?

if that accounts not working, i reccommend just opening an e-saver with the bank your currently with and withdrawing it to that?

their quick to be approved too so you could have it withdrawn in a few days...

GreenBean 04-30-2011 10:26 AM

It's just come off the 180 day limitation as stated in the OP. :pop2:

Imakemoney 04-30-2011 10:38 AM

Ive recently had some money released from a 180 day hold and it allowed me to withdraw to the bank account I originally had attached to it.

So ye if thats not working for you i recommend trying withdrawing to a savings account such as a e-saver for speed and convenience.

what savers have you found that work to withdraw?

Imakemoney 04-30-2011 01:49 PM

Natwest e-saver worked for me. They wont work in the long run with PP though, but will just for after the 180 limitation to get your money out.

ShadyOne has used a lot of these savers may be worth giving him a PM.

ShadyOne 04-30-2011 02:52 PM

^^^ NatWest was actually my most recent and it worked a treat :thumb:

So seeming as the OP is with NatWest...I think we have come up with a solution :D

PayPal ?

If you have an account with a bank it usually takes the same day to open another one. another thing you could do is go in and make an excuse about why you need another account.

you can also add an account in a different name, it dose not have to be in the same name a the paypal account holder, also you do not have to use the full name when attaching a bank account, you can use initals , it is not that hard to get another account number to add to PP.

Hi bud. Can you pm me some tips (or post on the open forum) your tips for opening another bank account. I am in the process of setting up another bank account for stealth purposes so I can withdraw - any help would be greatly received :hail:

If you really don't want to open another account, you could have them cut you a check but it takes about a month to get it and costs $1.50
