Phonecall from Pay pal

Hi, just wanted to know what your input would be regarding the following:

I made a withdrawl from pay pal to my bank account, and within 5 minutes received a phonecall from pay pal usa, to my landline, confirming my details, which postal service I use and if I have my stock on hand. The rep was quite easy to talk to, but I am now wondering if my account is being closely monitored, or if I am worrying for nothing. Account is about 5 months old, with no issues, and ebay account has about 400 100% feedback, with no low star ratings. I have to mention that I have been selling a few higher value items lately. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

I went through this a few months back when i withdrawed too much money/too frequently. Also i had received many disputes. I think you will be fine if you dont have any disputes, and answer correctly. Withdrawing less frequently/less funds will keep you under the rador. If they didnt ask you for receipts and ID this is a very good sign:amen:

Nice post and nice advice.

The moment a rep calls you, safe to assume that yes, you are being monitored. That's why you should go light - still have your docs ready in case.

This happened a while back to me... Account still up and doing fine. Even more weird I pretended not to be at home so PP never got a chance to speak to me about the account. I wouldn't worry.

I get calls like this all the time. Got one last night, just play it cool, make them laugh. They really just want to talk to you and make sure you initiated the transfer then see how you handle their 50 questions game.

Yeah I think this is routine, testing the phone number on file is active and you have acess to it, making sure you are currently aware of activity on your PayPal account etc

So they didnt ask any questions too probing then?

Out of interest how big was the withdrawal that triggered it?

Staying calm is the best way, you've done good :thumb:

Hi

Hi, thanks for all the messages, it is great to know that I have place I can come to for help, or just a chat.

The withdrawl was £900, however I had transfered £800 last Saturday, so maybe that is why. The most I have ever drawn at once is £600.

They did not ask too many questions, just confirm email, did you just make a withdrawl, how do you post your items, and is your stock on hand.

that could be your answer then...but its very hard to say definitavely what triggered it.
