So I am intending to finish setting up with a dynamic IP provider for a home computer.
My question is that I know turning the modem on and off should give new IP.
My question is if I intend to remotely access my home comp from work, how would I go about resetting the IP if I cannot physically turn off the modem? Maybe some software plug-in/app can be recommended? I don't intend to use a router since I believe the new modem provided is wireless.
I figure I will use teamviewer or logmein to access.
My provider is Bell Canada if any Canadian peeps have tips. Thanks.

First I would try reseting the IP from your PC. I assume you are using windows if you have vista or later enter "cmd" into the search box on the start menu. If you are using an older version of windows look for the cmd prompt in the accessories folder.
Once you have opened it type in "ipconfig/release" this will disconnect you from the net. Then type "ipconfig/renew" this will re-enable the connection and you should have a new IP address. Unfortunately some ISP control the IP address at the main hub or router.
This means when you renew the IP address your ISP changes it back to the original address. My ISP here in the UK does this however I can change it remotely by accessing the hubs webpage, and disconnecting the internet and reconnecting from its homepage.
If you are able to use the cmd prompt to change your IP I can tell you how to manually create a specific IP address so you wont have a new address each time you log in to ebay or paypal :-) (just pm me for details)
