What banks to use?

Hi Guys,

I am looking for a bank account I can use with paypal. I have bad credit and also too many accounts with my current bank they are now starting to ask questions.

If someone is using a savings account that accepts dd and can be opened online easily please pm me the details(incase ebay or paypal is watching), as I can find alot of info about banks to use but none seem to be in UK.

Many Thanks

Natwest First Reserves accounts... These are like basic savings accounts that do accept incoming direct debit deposits. I have no experience with them myself's but from what i've read on here their good.

happy days ill look into them :)

Yeah, Natwest are nice.

RBS are nice. :) I have a bias towards them. They let you make accounts on line easily. Look at their key account

A lot of Natwest First Reserve accounts are now getting kicked - afraid to say savers is not the road to go down anymore stick to current accounts.

Banks I would recommend that are good with stealth are as follows:

- Natwest
- Santander
- Cooperative
- RBS

yea but i have bad credit rating so I cant open new current accounts with banks outside of my own as they refuse to give me one. I have too many with my own now so i need to find alternative :-) If I can can open a few saver accounts that work and use them with paypal i wont need to do so later. :-)

Ill try the ones you mention before they are too late :-)

Even with bad credit, you are entitled to have a bank account that allows a direct debit.

Try RBS as they are tolerant of bad credit.

Without prying, have you checked your credit report recently? Make sure anything on it is accurate. :pop2:

lol. Not checked recently. I was over 15k in debt 4 years ago and then got lucky buying and selling gold when when it rocketed in price so i was able to pay of my debts. My bank is part of the rbs group and are pretty good but are now starting to ask questions about number of accounts i have. I checked my credit profile monthly up until last June last year when i bought a new car. So i figure it should have improved since then. Only problem is ive opened new current accounts, and ordered a credit card in the last 6 months. So to be honest i have no idea how good or bad it is now.

Solid recommendations from solid forum posters. Ordering one CC in last 6 months will not affect your score greatly (from my own experience) and opening up current accounts does not affect if your balances don`t go badly negative.
