do i have to be logged in on the new computer account i just created when i go to change the IP address? wont all the addresses. wont that single IP address keep changing each time I go to do it for each account I create?

GrannyT 05-23-2011 10:20 AM

You need a new IP every time you change user account. If you have dynamic IP it is not a problem. I assume you will be running XL to keep track of the IPs used so save XL and close it down. Press your router restart button and change users. By time you have your new browser open your new IP will be there. Log the new IP into your XL sheet and you are good to go.

Do this EVERY time you change user accounts. WITHOUT FAIL!!!

I would favour this approach as well - new user account each time for each IP. The IP will not change (usually) unless you restart your modem.

Now, there are people who will say they haev made accounts with new user setup and no changing of the IP. I have done this as well. For eb ay, it may not cause problems (unless you are badly linked, etc) but Pa yp al does monitor IP for withdrawals and transactions so same IP can be a big problem.

All the best.

yes, I have 2wire wireless.. ewire router. what is "running XL to keep track of the IPs" ??

setitoff 05-23-2011 10:43 AM

so I would have to restart the modem each time while i am logged into one of the accounts and then check IP BURGER TO SE IF IT IS THE CORRECT IPm as always for that specific account? also, I think "shady , of this forum" spoke of a browers plug in that alerts you as soon as your IP changes? ?? any familiarity?

if my IP stays the same, wont ebay see the same IP being used for multiple accounts each time i log into a different account? or will it automatically change?

Yes they will - that's why you must change it.

I suggest you use an XL spread sheet to keep a record of all IPs used. I keep date, IP, Account name and I check before opening EB or PP to see if they have been used before. If they are within a few digits I reset again

GrannyT 05-26-2011 03:50 AM

I use Firefox - I just don't like Bil Gates - most people agree that Firefox is better for stealth. (I'm not even sure I cound find my way around Explorer now)

^ I would say more people use Firefox in stealth, meaning you will get more help with it.
