Selling Limits

I know this has been asked to death by various people across the forum but still here goes:

I have an ebay account created Jan 4th this year (2011)

It has a fully verified paypal account with no limits linked to it that was created at the same time.

Made my first sale on this ebay account was on April 4th this year. Having before left it to age for the 1st 3 months of this year before even attempting to sell anything.

Account currently has 105 positive feedback. No Negs or neutrals.

Plus around 85 DSR averaging around 4.9 on all the criteria apart from one which is 4.8.

Now I currently still have a selling limit of 100 itmes per month. I have read from someone on here that once the account is 90 days old AFTER the first sale all selling limits are lifted.

Is this correct in most peoples experience?

As I read someone (Apologies for not remembering who) saying they'd read on an ebay forum that the accounts selling limits should be lifted once:

Its has 20+ DSR rating

100+ Feedback

And 90 days had passed since first sale.

So in theory all I have to do is bsically wait until after July 4th then the selling limit should be lifted on this account and I should have the ability to list unlimited?

Any help I'd be grateful thanks

With regards to lifting limits, it's not really automated - you speak to live chat and hope that you won't need ID verification - from my experience. Perhaps others have experienced otherwise.

Yeah I spoke to live chat today in reagrds to the selling limit and was told it was 'The System' that decides it. I asked does this system not have the parameters set up in regards to this by humans?? I then got told to ring for more information on this. Live chat in my experience is a waste of time really.

Perhaps if I try again after July 4th it may be lifted...touch wood.

^ Hmmm, I have had much success with live chat in the past, but it is quicker and more immediate when phoning them.

I think their is a good chance it will be lifted after your next review.

Whenever I've used Live chat it takes an enternity for them to answer. Once I must have been forwarded on to at least 5 people in 2 hours...only to STILL not be given an answer or have action taken on my original request/question

In the end they basically said we'll forward it onto the relevant team and You'll hear from them via email...only to not get any answer at all half the time.:mad2:

Maybe I should plum for the phoning option if all is not well. Just worried I'll get the same waste of time only this time in audio.

Thats what I was thinking. Come post July 4th hopefully all should be well. Just looking for reassurance really I suppose.

^ Yeah that is the biggest issue with live chat...it isn't very live! I have had the email reply before. Though often the email is not the generic automated email.

That is why phoning them is often the best idea. Once you have phoned eBay and PayPal, and see how easy it can be, you will find yourself doing it a lot more in the future.

90 days from your first sale as a seller, thats if you meet the requirements in whatever area your selling in, you need high DSR's, upload tracking, etc...

I noticed that accounts are reviewed each month, also even after 90 days sometimes your lucky to get 100 items and 5,000.00 in sales which is the highest I get selling on eBay motors non high risk items.

It has slowed my money up big time, all I can say is spread it out over as many accounts that you can handle.

There seems to be no logical process with these selling limits. I had one of my real accounts suspended and a week selling ban. Prior to this I could only list 10-20 items every 30 days. I am listing again after my ban and have managed to list 36 items within a fortnight. I am not complaining- this is great for me but it doesnt seem fair at all that my limits have been increased or lifted completely immediately after a breach of policy, yet people with great running accounts cannot get limits increased.

Eb@y just continues to give us more reasons to give them the finger. I would create more stealth accounts and spread your listings until your limits are increased ot lifted.
