Last name uncommon

I honestly doubt if anyone in the US has the same last name as me and is selling on Ebay. If I use my sisters info, will it link me from having the same last name and also would they Ebay link me if the bank I use is only a regional uncommon bank?

I should have read the book in the first place because I was wreckless and burned up two peoples names I was using.

Tweak your last name with slight spelling variations. Address and other info MUST be diff or tweaked.

The Observer 05-25-2011 06:05 PM

So in other words, it would raise a red flag on my new account if I don't?

You could slightly vary names a bit. Search a name database for some ideas if you have to.

The Observer 05-25-2011 06:34 PM

Well there is no variation for my last name unless you are a women.

ShadyOne 05-25-2011 06:48 PM

...Then just choose a name close to yours. Misspelt or mispronounced etc

Any name could work, usually depends on the bank, but it is just safe to be close to your original name.

Just drop or add an extra letter. I just changed one letter in my name and still sell the same product. Name alone isn't what gets you linked.

Usually it doesn't raise a red flag but if they see any small problem the'll most likely limit your account.

can't use variations myself, since when ebay suspends you now a days for vero, paypal limits you, it isn't worth the chance of losing my real paypal 15 years old and 1.5% cashback that's how old it is.. it's #winning

thread was 4 months old ;)

But here's a horror story for you.

User here did exactly as the OP suggested. Family name, same items to sell AND the same branch of the bank.

Account got reviewed manually. Account got killed. Better to train ourselves to be different & stealth. :juggle:

Well using a name variation of a last name, is that only so you dont trigger a bot picking you up?
