Flash cookies, Cookies, Beacons - Tracking - Help

Hi,

I've purchased the stealth ebay book (Very helpful)....I have a few questions and would appreciate some help.

I'm technically challenged by the way....I'm changing Internet providers to get a new IP. The other methods were over my head.

I have CC cleaner to delete cookies and flash cookies....I use CC cleaner every day. I delete history etc. every day.

What about beacons and other sneaky things that could be on my hard drive from ebay or paypal? I've read that CC cleaner may not remove all flash cookies.

I've also been here to delete flash cookies -
Adobe - Flash Player : Settings Manager - Website Storage Settings panel

What more can I do BEFORE I log into my new ebay / paypal account ? To clean everything...To be SURE..... ?

I have never used Auctiva or any Ebay listing software.

Any help is appreciated.

I will also need help with photo shop documents at some point soon...Just planning ahead to have them ready. Can anyone help with those?

=}Thanks in advance.

Why not setup seprate user accounts?
Like for me Im using MacOS at the moment but Ive done same thing on Windows...
Have seprate accs and label them.. for example

Say I have 6 accounts setup, I put the email I use as the usernamewhen signing in so I can keep all the user account stuff separate.. also its better so ebay/paypal doesnt think you acc is compromised due to the amount of ip changes

Yes, you must use different user accounts on your computer, it is the easiest way to manage stealth.

blueskies 05-30-2011 11:56 AM

Thanks - But before I even start ...I want to make sure I've done everything possible to remove anything that can be tracked.

Is there anything more besides CC cleaner / deleting history / adobe site ...
What about beacons or any other creepy crawlies?

I want to remove all traces before I begin...

Thanks!

...but the tracking data is stored seprately on each user account. So a new user account would be fresh and have no tracking data from eBay.

You could have started already if you just open a new user account ;)

blueskies 05-30-2011 12:28 PM

I don't have a new internet connection (provider) yet (New IP)....I can't start yet.

I'll have to google setting up a new user acct and transferring things over to it.
(CC cleaner, Firefox, etc.)

Is it a problem using the same browser in a different user acct? (Firefox)

Thanks....

oompaloompa 05-30-2011 12:44 PM

same browser in differnent user is fine.

ShadyOne 05-30-2011 12:45 PM

@OP Your programs will use different profiles on new user accounts. So their is no problem and no need to transfer over.

blueskies 05-30-2011 01:03 PM

@Oompalompa - Thank you. :-)

I've set up the new user account - How do I bring over the programs on my desk top...To the new user acct.?
That's what I meant by transfer things over.

Thanks...

ShadyOne 05-30-2011 01:14 PM

They will be already installed for use on the new user account. You could search them or look in 'All Programs or go to program files, copy and create shortcuts etc etc

blueskies 05-30-2011 01:21 PM

I'm having a really hard time with this.

Isn't there an easy way to transfer all from one user's desktop to the new user account?
They aren't all programs...Pictures folders etc.
I can't get anything transferred over to the new user ID.

Thanks...

ShadyOne 05-30-2011 01:26 PM

^ No the point is that this user account should be for stealth only. If you was going to run 5 seperate stealth eBay accounts then you would need 5 new user accounts on your computer.

You should leave all your toys on your main user account that you will not use for eBay. Even if you are just going to create 1 stealth eBay account, you should ideally just have a new user account that you use just for eBay/PayPal etc

Get it? Stealth user account and Main user account...just makes life easier!

p.s. for specific help, what operating system are you using?

blueskies 05-30-2011 01:31 PM

Windows XP ....

I want to brink over outlook, CC cleaner, Firefox, Other spyware cleaners etc. My pics...And other things like that - I want to bring over to the new user acct. desk top.

Thanks....

For pictures and stuff go to My Computer > Local Disk C > Users > 'Original User Account'. You will then recognise all your old folders and can copy direct to your new user account.

For programs go to My Computer > Local Disk C > Program Files. You will now see all the programs installed on your computer. You can copy and create shortcuts to place on the desktop of your new user account.

For more info go to www.google.com

dongles are ideal for changing ip address when swapping windows user accounts

its something you should consider,it could save you alot of time and effort, then again if you get an internet provider who give dynamic ip`s you dont need to worry too much as you will probably be able to change ip`s by turning your router off and on,

they do come in handy though for changing ip`s

blueskies 05-30-2011 01:54 PM

Thanks...I have already googled it...It's just not working.
A few things were transferred...But not all.

I'll come back to it another time...It's been over an hour of trying different things.

Thanks for your help - I really appreciate it.

If you was going to run 5 seperate stealth eBay accounts then you would need 5 new user accounts on your computer.

Exactly - bit more time to log in but way safer.

oompaloompa 05-31-2011 02:59 AM

go to start and all programs on that user or just do search, most things on main user will be on standard user too, otherwise any other stuff just put them in to a public folder on admin and you will be able to copy paste icon on to other user and it should work if you click it. but browsers they are always around somewhere on all users you just have to search, the problem is getting rid of stuff actually on other users, it gives all admin programs that you dont want, and you have not got permission to delete unless its an admin acc!....

Thank you for the link.

Once I have my new Ebay/Paypal accounts - New IP - New user account - Deleted cookies / flash cookies etc. - Do you suggest opening future Ebay email only within MY EBAY or is it ok to open in yahoo mail? This is for the new account only -

Thanks...

rsot 05-31-2011 09:46 AM

Disable the images and you should be ok. I still prefer opening up e-mail only in eb ay - part of my "tinfoil" assumptions.

Imakemoney 05-31-2011 10:18 AM

I also only open up mail in ebay too.
