Called Paypal this morning about the EIN deal at 20K
 

I called paypal just now and asked them if there was a SSN attached to my account and they said no.

I called because I hit 20K yesterday and have still not been contacted by paypal regarding it.

They just said, they were surprised that I didnt get the email and when I do just fill out the EIN number and I should be fine.

So I guess not all people will get emails at a specific time. I have heard people getting them at 14k and 17k, etc. No me.

I am sure when I get home later I will have the email now since he mentioned it though. I didnt have my number in front of me when I was talking to him so I have to call back.

Anyway, Nothing Big, just some information to post.

I have had the same issue yesterday, I have reached 11k but went over 200 items.

They ask it when its either 20k or 200items. Will your EIN be attached to a stealth

account? I have the same problem. Need to add EIN.

The requirement is for if you hit BOTH 200 and 20K from what I was led to beleive.

As for the SSN or EIN, they are supposed to ask for it but I still have gotten no email and I have NO SSN attached right now. Ive been dumping my balance every day to my bank in case they want to limit it for some BS reason.

I dumped 1k tuesday, $250 yesterday and another $450 today after I talked to them. I'm going to dump every dollar now as soon as I get it until I feel safe again.


Also to answer you other question, I have an account with my adult sons name, stealth details and my own real EIN with my name on it. when you get the EIN you are dealing with the IRS so you have to make it your real info. Sofar on this forum there has only been a couple people say that they used their real EIN on an account and it worked fine. sofar that is. If something comes up to question it then it hasnt yet. Either way if it does later they wont get your details, they would probably only get a "match" or "No Match" back from the IRS. I doubt that even happens though. They just have to report the Number. I dont see why though would really need to go all CSI about it unless you are doing something odd.

So its not eather or but both 200 and 20k this is good to know as i have a couple accounts that i just hit 200 items but no were near 20k.

Yeah, I hit 200 items in my 1st month or so. If that was the case I would have heard long ago.

The reason it is both is (I imagine) so you dont have to pay income tax by selling a 20k vehicle with 1 transaction. that would be ridiculous.

By making it both you really cant say you are selling your kids baby clothes to buy more. you kinda look like a business after that.

really though 20k in gross sales is nothing tax wise. you can zero that out easy with gas, shipping, tons of other misc deductions. You would probably get a larger return if anything else for that amount.
