| | | | | Giardino | 06-18-2011 09:16 AM | Accounts linked and I have no idea how =/ Just got an MC999 on one of my accounts =/ I dunno how, the account they limited had totally different info from the account they linked it to, and on top of that one was made on my computer and another on VMware. The only link possible would be that I post all auctions via inkfrog because I like it better than auctiva, but they both use their own IP (I thought).
Gah...
Dear XXXXXX (XXXXX@gmail.com)
Based on your account information and activity, it looks like user ID XXXXX is associated with your account. This usually indicates that both accounts belong to the same person.
Because the other account is restricted or otherwise not meeting minimum seller standards, we've changed the amount you can list on eBay.
You can now sell up to 10 items or up to $500.00 per month, whichever comes first. After 90 days, we'll reassess your account and may increase your limits based on your selling performance. You can also increase your limits sooner by resolving any open issues with the associated account. We've already sent instructions for resolving these issues to the email address registered to that account. |
| doughboykilla | 06-18-2011 10:32 AM | Dont jump the gun yet i seen many cases where ebay said a account was linked to another but in reality it was never linked all along but rather they had no legitment reason to suppended you or ask for id so they pretend you where linked so they can assk u to prove u are who u say u are. |
| BiN4RY | 06-18-2011 10:43 AM | Did you also use any similar registration information, and possibly similar listing formats? |

| GrannyT | 06-19-2011 04:00 AM | Anecdotal eveidence seems to show that certain items get looked at and reviewed constantly. Because I only list low risk items I never get this but equally I don't earn the big bucks that some of you earn. My bucket is filled with lots of little drips
:pop2: |
I remember reading another post from a user here that was trying to break down how he got linked...he was using Inkfrog too...as you say, if Inkfrog uses its own IP to list your auctions - I see something strange there.
And eb ay did not link you to some RANDOM account - I am understanding that account XXXXX is really an account of yours right? |
| Giardino | 06-19-2011 01:37 PM | yup >_> perhaps they linked the two via descriptions or because of some other factor. Oh well, I have plenty of other accounts. |
| jbluntz | 06-19-2011 02:39 PM | I got that once but was only because I forgot to clear cookies and change ip, they were 2 accounts made one after the other and both of them got the same message you listed above. Never been linked for using same description, pics, similar info or any of that. |
| ShadyOne | 06-19-2011 02:41 PM | If you have time, seeming as you have not had the accounts long, you could post the steps you took to open the seperate accounts and what you did to operate/maintain them and keep them seperate etc. |

All made on different VMWare Virtual Machines with a different IP via 3G USB Dongle =P |
| jbluntz | 06-19-2011 11:39 PM | If you login directly to ebay/paypal on a new VM with a new ip you can't get linked, so you can scratch those 2 out. |

:pop2: | I tried to use different images alltogether with each account. I'd take my camera and snap about 20 different pics from different angles of whatever I was selling :P |
| NotAHappyBunny | 06-20-2011 03:08 PM | Did you clear image data? |

| Giardino | 06-20-2011 04:17 PM | I used my phone >_> |
| macbook | 06-23-2011 03:30 PM | .JPG and most ther image formats types contain EXIF data, this would be Exchangeable Image File Data, and contains such data as shutter speed, date and time a photo was taken, focal length, exposure compensation, metering pattern and if a flash was used.
Possibly eBa y uses such data to confirm the owner of photos, and as such matching info could be examined to link accounts............
