For ebay mac address router...
 

So i have a cable modem that is connected to my router. Im talking about ebay here. Can I use the same mac for like 3 accounts, but different ips or no?

I know, but here it is:

1. account 1 made january 01, 2011 has mac 11 with ip: 1.2.3.4

2. if i create an account 2 made june 18, 2011 has mac 11, but gives me ip: 1.9.783

is that a problem or no?

i don't understand and are u telling me and you now have two different ip addresses with the same mac address with the same modem?

Almost every home internet user in the US has a dynamic IP address. This means that when your modem asks your ISP for an IP address, the ISP gives you the next available one. Simply powering off and on your modem usually doesn't change your IP address; however, changing your MAC will make your ISP think a different device is connecting to the network so it needs it's own IP address. Another aspect of a dynamic IP address is that your ISP can give you a different IP address at any time. That explains why you have a different IP address though your MAC is the same. My ISP hands out new addresses every three to four months.

And those i.p's are in the same range because you have the same m.a.c

If you change your m.a.c address you can ensure you will be in a cetin i.p range, thats how i do it, i have one eby to one m.a.c it is easier that trying to keep an eye on all your i.p's

It's been 4 months since I used the old mac and now it gives me a new ip address. So I want to know if I make a new account can I use that old mac that gives me a new ip for the new account? I have not used that old mac in over 4 months. I keep everything registered on file including macs I have used so that is what im asking...

I am sure you will be fine with a new ip on eBay or PayPal as they don't see your mac address and i change my mac address when I want a new ip address its easy peasy to do with telnet :clap:

As long as your external ip is different you are ok.

Are you working with eb ay here or am az on? I still don't see mac as being a concern for eb ay - sorry if I am missing your point completely.

Its for ebay. I just want to know if I use an old mac i used for another ebay stealth a long time ago can I still use it? I have a new ip with it. The old mac belonged to a now closed negative stealth account...

The answer to your question is: yes

Well considering some people seem to think that using same i.p does not get you banned, then it's should not be a problem, but even though the i.p you got this time from the old mac address of the banned eby account is a new one, if you keep using it one day it will issue the same i.p as your banned ebay one, if you do not know the old i.p you will not know when this is. also in the time it took me to make this reply you could have just changed the m.a..c address.

Why bother making things complicated and risky, just change your m.a.c address and have done.

I have run out of macs so I want to go to an old mac. I'll get a new router soon.

I think you are mistaken. You should be able to change the MAC of your router to whatever you want, and there are 281,474,976,710,656 MAC addresses to choose from. Are you saying your router makes you choose from a list of MAC's and that you have used all of them?

Just log into your router and change your mac address. Just change the last 2 digits and it will change your IP. If your IP changed and you still have the same mac. Then you will be ok. But just to make it safer on yourself instead of constantly worrying, then just change the last two digits of the mac. Takes less than a minute to do.

some routers don't allow you to edit the mac address and u have to use telnet instead like me
