Default VMWare Workstation and Cloning a Machine

I don't want to have to install a new OS for each new machine on VMWare. If I simply clone an existing machine, will that give me a unique, unlinkable system with a new MAC address like when you start a new machine from scratch?

If you talking about cloning the whole hard drive with vmware installed on it, then all the data you have on that will be transfered to the new computer but you will get a new m.a.c as stated.

Do what I did, create a fresh system and DONT DO ANYTHING ON IT AT ALL! Just install what you need and what is necessary to suit your needs. Definitely dont go to eBay or Paypal at all on this client. Afterwards, clone that client each time you want a new ebay account. I call my base client "eBay template"

You can easily accomplish so by taking a snapshot with VMware, you don't need to copy the hd image every time. This way, not only you can revert into a snapshot, you can also fast forward to a current one.

However, I think the OP might be using it for Amazon, where Mac address is a big deal.

right, but each new clone has its own unique MAC address, which is why I use that particular method. Snapshots aren't really my thing, and even though each new clone is ~4GB, I actually needed something to fill up my 1TB HD with =P

If you clone the full hard drive it will copy everything over, just as it is on your computer now, user accounts, settings, cookies, everything.
