| iJustWannaSell | 06-24-2011 08:22 PM | vpn vs vps still looking for some input.
Got the Ghost & Stealth books. Read them both. Set up one AMZN account and now ready to put up another one.
Have new user account in Windows, set up, MAC ID changed, Vmware set up, but faltering on the IP Address change required.
I would like to go the VPN route but there seems to be conflicting information on whether its a Yes or No. Looking through VPN discussions - VPS is mentioned as a better option.
Could some folks weigh in? |
| macbook | 06-24-2011 11:27 PM | Ive heard, and from my research. The VPNs may be untrusted, or marked as sharing service IPs. I've considered the possibility of leasing server space to setup a private VPN, where I could buy IPs at will, use them statically for a while, then buy more when needed.
Probably would need someone more experienced them myself to setup, but i think it would be possible using, but seems foolproof to having an unlimited number of unique IPs, that would be static and not marked as sharing services or blackboxed as proxies.
Maybe someone could also weigh in on this idea. :) |
| misterjack | 06-25-2011 12:16 AM | I'll be using VPS's for my accounts although I already have a few for other uses. For sure they must be safer, with VPN there are only a limited number of providers, and ebay would be able to easily find the IP addresses they use and flag them.
To set-up a VPS as VPN isn't that easy mind (at least not for me), even though you can find simple instructions on the MS website. I simply use one VPS per account and RDP in to use, a little expensive though. If you do the same, make sure you rent out VPS's on 30 day contracts rather than annually, for obvious reasons
One last thing regarding buying extra IP's - some providers will want a valid reason to sell you extra IP's, due to the shortage of addresses in existence. I think others will just sell them to you with no questions asked, again check before you sign up. |
| jbluntz | 06-25-2011 12:34 AM | You can purchase ip block's (256 ip's) and make your own private elite proxy server with a vps and squid, there's a few tutorials out there. |

You don't have a choice but to buy it from an ISP or hosting company, but they won't sell them to you unless you subscribe to some of their expensive services. |
| iJustWannaSell | 06-26-2011 10:12 PM | Thank you Misterjack for your input. I will research some more on VPS too. Quote:

| jbluntz | 06-27-2011 01:55 PM | For you maybe but for some it might raise a little curiousity and cause them to do a little  googling  |
| *Shrug* | 06-30-2011 06:30 PM | I am in Canada and have been trying unsuccessfully for months to setup a stealth paypal and a way to withdraw. I dont use ebay. I bought a virtual bank acct from a seller who was not helpful and all I have managed so far is a limited paypal with money stuck in it.
Sorry to kind of thread-jack :P but it is relevant. |
| iJustWannaSell | 07-02-2011 10:40 AM | Did you buy the eBay Stealth book? |

Most likely via their expensive hosting plans. |
| *Shrug* | 07-03-2011 12:23 AM | You can get really cheap VPS to install the VPN server. You can change between IP on the VPS, just buy some more. |

I am not sure why you ask that, but the answer on behalf of everyone here is going to be Yes. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:22 AM. | |
