Having username on a bit of paper in photo's

Prob a newbie question, but why is this done? Is it to try and show ebay that the listing is unique? Personally I would say it's a big giveaway to someone using multiple accounts, as the people who are trying to persuade ebay they only have 1 account are most likely those who actually have more?

There are plenty of annoying sellers that tries to impersonate another member, wanting to steal their sales with false reputation by stealing your listing photos and the entire listing format

No it's to show the goods are in the possession of the seller...it's against the rules to drop shop on eBay.

That too, I thought the OP was taking about watermarks

Usually dont in my niche just becuase the seller is paranoid that someone wants his basement lit photo that usually sucks anyway. lol

Other reasons are as stated above

I do that to show that I have the item and that it is the EXACT item you will receive. I dont use generic photos as buyers always complains if the item differs slightly.

Other do it so others dont steal their photos an use it on sites like CL to scam ppl.

Also some ebay items require your username in listings.
