Default What is the best way to make several bank accounts?

What is the best way to make several bank accounts. I want to make about 20-25 bank accounts? Can this be done without any problems and is there an easier way than going to each bank and opening them in-person.

Thank you,
El Matador

If you open up that many bank accounts at one bank in one go, the bank will either deny your request, shut you down shortly, or both.

Your best choice is to spread them apart to several banks, and have only no more than 6 accounts active from each bank. Wait for a few month, and come back and open/close more. Too frequent will get you into huge amount of trouble.

Not good on an open forum smellybelly - This sort of info is best in the subscribers section - the OP is in USA by the way

elmatador, if you go into the subscriber's section and search for a "means to an end list" you will find all the banks that work and don't work. Though this list is a little outdated, so proceed with caution. I would search each bank account name in the forum to confirm that it still works.

'several' bank accounts is MUCH different from 20-25.

I sense a business plan needed here

theres no need to have 20-25 bank accounts. 5-10 is more realistic. Me personally I use 1 particular bank and I never have more than 10 open at a time. Usually 6-8 average. I like only using 1 bank that way I only have 1 debit card and I just transfer all funds from the other accounts into the 1 checking account that my debit card is linked to for withdraws.

With Wachovia once you go into the bank and open an account, later you can open multiple accounts online without ever having to go back in. They use the same signature card for all. Do you have family that can help open some of those accounts, thus carrying less on your back. You can always be added to the signature card and allowed to be active with those accounts.

Do these accept incoming direct debits though?
