| | | yellow0102 | 06-29-2011 10:07 PM | using a fast food place for your address is it really sensible to have mail sent to mcdonalds, wendys, burger king, ETC.
(sorry if this is a dumb question) |

i did mean sensible really. pop2: |
| GreenBean | 06-29-2011 10:20 PM | Bites tongue hard and tries to be composed as typing out a reply.
imo, there would be no point of doing that.
There are several reasons and they are reasons I've actually come across from trying such options. What could be the possible outcome of mail going to such an address and what, if any, could be the potential harm to an account?
On the 1st, that mail could be thrown out and never delivered.
On the 2nd, the ebay/paypal sender may be expecting a response. So if none cometh, then another flag goes on the account and another possibility of suspension/limitation.
You've subscribed here. You want to learn to be adept at stealth.
Use a fast food place and possibly lose your account fast.
(Just had to get that one in ;))
However as it is not unreasonable to realize your accessible address is banned, then my recommendation is to consider a PO Box.
In other words, control YOUR account yourself.
Have a working phone, have an accessbile postal address.
Take that extra step to be an ebay seller (whose account just happens to be stealth) :peace: |
| jbluntz | 06-29-2011 10:22 PM | Why? when you can just get a mailbox rental for about $10 a month and if you can't afford $10 a month you would be better off working at the fastfood place.:amen: |
| yellow0102 | 06-29-2011 10:25 PM | the thing is that i went to the post office, and they said that only 1 PO box is allowed, and if i sign up, i will no longer get mail at my house.
I am confused  |
| jbluntz | 06-29-2011 10:29 PM | You don't need a PO box just flip open the yellow pages and look under mailbox rental. |
| yellow0102 | 06-29-2011 10:30 PM | i live in a county that has 3,000 people :mad2:
USPS is the only mailbox rental around here
Thanks for the suggestion though |
| jbluntz | 06-29-2011 10:32 PM | So then get the PO box then, it's not a big deal. |
| yellow0102 | 06-29-2011 10:34 PM | how will i make multiple stealth accounts? |
| jbluntz | 06-29-2011 10:37 PM | You read the stealth guide and you don't need a mailbox linked to every account 1 is good enough, you can put the PO box address on the package for returns and use a different address to register the accounts |
| yellow0102 | 06-29-2011 10:37 PM | u need an address to register with ebay though, correct? |
| jbluntz | 06-29-2011 10:42 PM | Yes you do doesn't have to be the PO box though. |
| yellow0102 | 06-29-2011 10:43 PM | then what should it be??? |
| jbluntz | 06-29-2011 10:47 PM | Any address just google it, houses for sale, apartments, anywhere people live or even a mailbox rental place you don't rent a mailbox at will work. |
| yellow0102 | 06-29-2011 10:49 PM | is that legal |
| jbluntz | 06-29-2011 10:58 PM | Just think of mister rogers neighborhood, it's make believe. |

I am confused  | Go to another post office.
There are 4 post office with a few minutes of my location. Im sure theres more than one post office where you live. |
| Melissa1971 | 06-30-2011 02:08 AM | Ebay verifies addresses so it needs to be zoned residential. Your addresses are commercial.
I know because yesterday a buyer of mine was booted out. Rep from Trust and Safety came back to tell me "His info didn't verify, his phone number and his address is not a residential address"
Kinda surprised me he noted the address as not being residential.
At least choose a residential address over a business/commercial address though a PO Box is best if you can afford it. |
| TheGenius | 07-03-2011 04:13 AM | I'm slightly confused. GreanBean is saying you should get a PO Box but jbluntz is saying you can put down any address? |
| GrannyT | 07-03-2011 05:48 AM | They never write to you so you can put any address. Why do people make a very simple operation complicated? FGS get with the programme and get the job done!
KISS - keep it simple & sweet:doh: |
| BiN4RY | 07-03-2011 07:14 PM | They don't write to you, but they do check your address for validity. |
| GrannyT | 07-04-2011 08:07 AM | If you buy an account it is unlikely to pass any checks for validity apart from the fact that it exists. Go down any street and their are properties for sale, properties to rent and properties standing empty. I know someone who has an account registered to a closed down pub that's all boarded up. I don't understand the need to make a simple job complicated:noidea: |

| biggunn | 07-11-2011 07:48 PM | Is it better to use a completely made up/fictional address or to use a real address from public records or home sales? The accounts I have bought in the past appear to be 100% made up addresses... Quote:

| biggunn | 07-11-2011 07:52 PM | Ebay does actually write to sellers... In the US at least. I have received postcards and an ebay magazine. It could be a problem if mail is returned or if a random person receives it...
I think it was somewhere on this forum I read a nice method. When you have a new seller account, by default the marketing notifications are set to email, phone, and mail. You go into your account notifications and then change the marketing notifications to only email (uncheck phone and mail). I've been doing this on all my accounts now. Quote:

If not your account will still be made but chances are it will be limited MC010 sooner or later.
Remeber its only identy theft when u steal some ones identy and social to use! not the address with a made up identy ;) |
| wonderwoman901 | 10-20-2011 12:17 PM | Thia was some great info on this thread. I have one stealth account just started selling this week, so far so good. I know I will need a back up account so Im thinking about creating my own. Since I know how to find a address now what about phone services? |
| FandangoKango | 10-20-2011 10:42 PM | My friend used to use a fast food place and last a few months then got asked docs. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 04:51 PM. | |
